Has anyone actually managed to get this to work?

I bought this thinking it was an eyelash primer, but decided to give it a try anyway. Honestly, I don't understand how people can apply these fuzzy little fibers and achieve an amazing, voluminous, long-lashed look without a clumpy mess around their eyes. I followed the instructions and even watched tutorials, but nothing seemed to work. Not sure if I'm just plain inept, or if the product isn't all that effective, but I doubt I will ever repurchase.
