If you hadn't already discovered the previous Mirror's Edge title before this, then you might be quite surprised with the uniqueness of this prequel; it is a fast-paced game with exhilirating-looking gameplay, sure to keep you on the edge of your seat at all times.

As briefly mentioned above, I thought highly of the gameplay, especially considering that I am someone who enjoys fast-paced games. The controls are fairly simple, which make this a good game for both the beginner and the veteran gamers.

The graphics are beautiful-looking (especially cutscenes, wow) and I've experienced little to no glitches during the entirety of the time spent playing the game.

One of the only flaws or should I say letdowns of this game had to be the characters; I'll explain why.
The story itself was alright, not the best but not so bad either. Honestly, perhaps the story would've been better if the characters had had more substance, or shall I say a wider range of emotion. I found it quite difficult to like any of the characters we are introduced to (including the protagonist), as they all seem to feel nothing but negative emotions throughout the whole game. Not only that, but during storyline moments where you would expect a character or even the protagonist herself to feel and express a strong emotion, it isn't well executed for the most part and in consequence not very relatable or even believable.

That aside, I still believe this game to be worth playing regardless, as the beauty of its graphics and the uniqueness of its gameplay + its simple controls make this game a breeze to play through.
