I wasn't really into video games until I got my DS Lite for my 18th birthday. No I am addicted! I love the idea of the stylus and the screen are super clear and the system is so portable. There are games for every age group and a lot of really original games that are a lot of fun. This is a great console for anybody who isn't a hard core gamer! I even go my mom wanting one!
I would recommend this to anyone because it has something for everyone. Learning games to adventure games and pretty much everywhere in between. Something for the young as well as the old. There are games to excercise your brain to make you mentally sharper. Strategy games if you just like to figure things out and then there's the ever lovable Mario with new and updated moves, suitable for this day and time.
I quite enjoy this game system -- out of all the current portable game systems out at the moment, it was probably the first on my list to get. There are a variety of reasons for this, but I think the main reason was because of the amount of games that I was interested in. As usual, there were some classic games that I always enjoy playing -- those in the Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon series, for example -- as well as others that intrigued me. The prospect of the touchpad and stylus is also very fun, and I am always pleased when I am able to use it.
As others have mentioned, it is very transportable and easy to carry around. I also use the alarm clock function quite often -- I find it very amusing to see how much time is left until the alarm is set to go off.
Overall, it is a very enjoyable product and I highly recommend it.
My oldest daughter had one and has passed it down to her sister. It has lasted through both of them . The games are fun- especially the Imagine series and the Petz group! I've been known to play while they are at school!
Great system. My 6 yr old has one and I bought a few games for myself (like Brain Age) and it is a great way to occupy spare time when the kids are away. It also keeps my son entertained when I need time to clean up or when he gets bored while I'm running errands. Only prob is, I want my own now!! :)
This game system rocks! Not only does my son love it during quiet time, but it's also great for long road trips. And now they have come out with lots of adult games as well. There is one teaching different cooking techniques that I'm dying to get!
I bought this for my 3 and a half year old and she loves it. It keeps her occupied on long car rides and in restaurants. Its easy to use, she turns it on and off herself, puts the games in and out and starts the games all on her own. They make great preschool games. It makes me want to start buying games for myself and using it when she is not. Its a great handheld system for anyone at any age.
I used my friends and fell in love with it...now I HAVE to go and get my own...I am having withdrawls..they rock!
I can't even begin to describe how much I love my pink DS lite.
One of the main reasons I think it's so great is because it has a wide variety of games and it's still easily portable! I mean, what's the fun in having a bulky system like xbox or playstation when you can carry around a system in the palm of your hands???
I also love how even though the screen is small on the DS, it is still very good quality.
If you plan to get a DS, I just have on tip for you: make sure you buy screen protectors to go over it because you will notice that your screen will start to get a bit scratched if you play games that require fast action with the stylus.
I have put protectors on mine from the start and I can see how damaged the screen would have been without them on there but luckily my actual screen is scratchless and smudgeless. :)
I absolutely LOVE this gaming system! There are so many different games (from Tetris to Brain Age) for all ages and types of gamers out there. It also comes in a semi-wide variety of colours (white, black, silver, blue, red, metallic rose) to personalize it that much further!
Worth it!
