NOTE: Clad cookware preheats at a different rate than other types of cookware which in turn can cause food to stick more. Before adding any oil, we recommend preheating the pan over medium heat. It is also necessary to add enough oil to coat the bottom of the pan so that it can act as a barrier between the pan and the food. Adding food to cold oil may also lead to sticking since the temperature of the pan will drop too quickly from the addition of the cold oil and cold food. For this reason, advocates should let the oil heat up until it starts to swirl around the pan loosely.

Excellent material for induction, package content

Thank you Butterly team for choosing me to try out the Canadian made PADERNO 5-Ply Copper Core Stainless Steel Cookware 12-piece Set.
Surprisingly, these 5 layers pots and pan heat up half of the time FASTER than my usual stain steel pots and pan. All the pots and pan are PERFECTLY straight on the bottom and sit evenly onto the stoves without sliding and blending through the heat inducting.
Currently using a Japanese electrical thermos kettle at home, instantly pumped in some 200 Celsius hot boiling water into the pot and turned on the stove, it needs to be praised that water instantly bubbly and boils less than 10 seconds.
Used the pan to sear two piece of prime rib steaks and pork chops, heat went perfectly evenly and browned the steak evenly. Stickiness to the steak, I finished with a little piece of butter, it slide off easily, brown stain, yes, of course, any pans will do. Pan-fried fish, need a bit more oil, the skin of the fish I fried stick onto the pan.
Making stew, protein cooked perfectly tender, covered with the lid, cooking time was one –third faster my normal time and make sure adding the vegetable the last especially the green, therefore the veggie in the stew would turn brown if you covered with the lid.
For the pot come with a particular FANCY coriander, got to say it is a bit useless, honestly who does not carry a coriander at home. The only thing I could think of using it for blanching veggies or cooking pasta, not much of a use I would say.
For this set there is too many lids, recall when I was cooking with the set, there is TWO sets of SAME sizes lids for all the pots and pan, however, they takes too much spaces inside my cabinet. As well, quite disappointed to me is the sizes of the pots are too close, probably a liter extra next to each sizes.
If you cook every day for a family minimum of five or you are preparing for a party, you can tell the difference right of the bat as the size of the every single pot in this set will not even let you cook enough for a family (Big eaters’ family like mine).
Don’t use the set when you are prepping for a party as all you will be doing is keeping cooking because you will be running out of food in seconds. One single example is how can you sear five pieces of steak in one pan, then of course, you have to repeat the work twice.
Also notice there was film looking like stain after I washed the pots and pan. If you want to achieve the shininess like new, I washed them twice and polished it, yes, it is quite a hassle.
My PERSONAL experience for this set is the packing -- IF this PARTICULAR set can replace a BIGGER pot like a STOCK pot or add an extra 9 “ frying pan PLUS took away the smallest pot as well as the TWO EXTRA LIDS and the NOT VERY USEFUL CORIANDER, which would be more a better selling set to me.
In general, the metal quality for the set is EXCELLENT, the packing contents is lacking, and the pots itself are quite heavy. It suits to a small family daily use.

    So in love!

I absolutely loved this cookware set. It is 12 pieces and has every must have for the kitchen. Pots, pans, steamer. I loved the design and materials of the items. Some reminders are that clad cookware preheats at a different rate than other types of cookware which in turn can cause food to stick more so let the pan preheat before putting enough oil to cover the pan. Also the handles can get hot so make sure using towel or pot holders. I absolutely loved the temperature control and heat conduction that they provided. It definitely meets the chef’s standards!

Stunning Heavy-Duty Chef Quality Cookware Set

Absolutely dazzling set of heavy-duty stainless steel cookware. So many features included in the manufacturing of these from the stainless steel, multi-layer clad construction, copper core, riveted handles, oven-safe to 500F/260C, and can be used on induction cook-tops. These beauties are even better in hand! I mean you can even feel that these pots are quality and durable in the weight and feel alone. The copper core is not only aesthetically pleasing but works by distributing the heat evenly across the cooking area for an exceptionally even cook. We are both trained chefs in this household and have found these pots to be useful for a variety of different cooking methods from boiling, sauteing, frying, to steaming and so forth...you can even throw these things in the oven to finish off the cook. If you have a recipe for it than you can most probably cook it in one of these pots. Comes with a 1.6L (1.7qt) Saucepan, 2L (2.1qt) Saucepan, 3.2L (3.4qt) Saucepan, 5.4L (5.7qt) Dutch Oven, 2.7L (2.8qt) Steamer, 24cm (9.5”) Frypan, and 6 lids all made in Canada!

There are some issues with using these pots such as with anything new you need to learn how they work (how they handle the heat, how hot they get, etc., but once you figure it out, they will be your go to pots. I also found the handles on the lid getting hot but honestly I have other pots that are much worse quality that have the same problem and I don't have much issue with this as I keep cooking mitts in my kitchen.

Overall, I am so excited to see what new recipes I will be able to master in this cookware while taking flashy photos in my fancy new pots for all to drool over!

An ""Exceptional"" cookware set like no other!!

I was extremely excited to be trying this 12-piece, 5-ply cookware set that had its humble beginnings in our own backyard (Canada) on Prince Edward Island.
This cookware set has a multi-layer copper technology that provides exceptional performance in the way it distributes heat, for superior cooking results.
I haven't used the whole set as yet, but after using the pan to fry a steak and saute some vegetables, I noticed that it only needed a low to medium setting to cook and got the results needed faster as opposed to the other cookware I own. I never even needed to use the high setting.
Also, it can be used on electric or gas stove tops, so no limitations there.

Some helpful facts for those pondering upon buying this amazing piece of professional cookware can be summarized as follows by me after usage -
    1) Do not have this on high heat too many times. It's not needed. You may find the heat travelling on the sides of the pan and also the handles. Only use the high setting for boiling water, reducing liquids etc.
    2) Add salt etc. to the food after you heat the food or liquids up so there are no spots that may be hard to remove. It may cause pits too.
    3) Remember that this is a high quality cookware set, but also due to the copper material it does need extra care. It is not dishwasher safe due to this - I would recommend handwashing it.
    4) If you see any watermarks remain, remove with a sponge - maybe a brush too - You can even dip it in lemon juice or white vinegar. But definitely a simple handwash works wonders.
    5) Use scrubbing pads on the interior, but try to use a soft cloth on the exterior surface.

The overall great thing about this set is that Paderno has a Limited Lifetime Warranty. I have never experience a cookware set that made me feel like a professional chef in the comfort of my home. It looks amazing and I definitely plan to take good care of the set so it can last me many years.

    Two Thumbs up!! Totally Recommended!!

    Top Performance

This beautiful set of stainless steel cookware is stunning. Not only aesthetically, but it's performance is solid! Very heavy bottomed, sturdy and well made. The pans will take a little longer to heat up, but ensuring its heated up properly, will mean that your food will not stick. Sprinkle a few drops of water on the pan to test if it is ready - not sure how to do that? Google!

We made a full pasta meal from scratch and our experience was flawless. From frying, boiling, deglazing - exellent. We also seared simple salmon fillets and nothing stuck. Blanching was a breeze, the strainer did a great job. Preheating properly, meant I didn't have to add additional oil whilst cooking. Food came out evenly cooked and perfectly caramelized, thanks to the pans' even heat distibution.

This is definitely a set that you want to showcase!

    Amazing pots and pans!

It was so exciting to receive the PADERNO 5-Ply Copper Core Stainless Steel Cookware Set, Oven Safe, 12-pc to review. First impressions, it wowed us! They are beautiful to look at, making you want to get to that stove. Even more important, they work phenomenally. The set includes 1.6L, 2L, 3.2L saucepans, 5.4L Dutch oven, 9 ½” fry pan, 2.7L steamer, and 6 lid; a perfect assortment of sizes. I felt like a master chef in the kitchen with these new pans. They’ve for sure helped elevate my culinary skills or in the least made things way more enjoyable at the stove. They heat up quickly and hold a nice, steady heat. Because they are clad cookware it’s important to note that they preheat at a different rate than other types of cookware which in turn can cause food to stick more. But all you need to do is before adding any oil, preheating the pan over medium heat and also make sure to add enough oil to coat the bottom of the pan so that it can act as a barrier between the pan and the food. We haven’t had an y stick issues. Flared edges for easy pouring are another feature you don’t think about, but are so happy when you have it and no spills! Another exciting feature for me is that they are oven safe to 500 degrees F/ 260 degrees C and compatible with most cooktops. AND even more special is that they are proudly Made in Canada. They are made well and durable so I can see them lasting for a long time. Easy to clean (just not in the dishwasher).

    Such perfect cookware!

Absolutely blown away, these are the best pots and pans that I have ever used!
I was so happy to get chosen to test and review this 12 piece set to up my cooking game 🤘🏻💪🏻
These pans are definitely not something that can be used by a beginner in the kitchen. They definitely are temperamental and if you don't know what you're doing, you're going to run into a lot of trouble. With that being said though I am an amazing cook and enjoy creating dishes in the kitchen So this set delivered 100% !!! 🍝
These pans cook so evenly , the heat is distributed perfectly across the pans. Whether you're boiling, sauteing or frying something, you're guaranteed to have an evenly cooked dish.
I love that these pans can be used on the stove or in the oven and are very well constructed! They have a bit of weight to them and are very firm. No worrying about bending a handle here lol Love the lip on the edge for pouring things out, definitely saves on the mess.
One thing I noticed about these pots and pans that I've never seen before is an instruction manual. I love that they give you the heads up to thoroughly scrub your pots and pans with soap and vinegar as they do come with a little bit of oil on them from manufacturing. Even though I did wash them very well. I did find one spot and only one spot (thankfully) that I must not have done the best job on so it did have a slight stain to it at the bottom of a lid (that's my fault, not the products) I also do like that in the manual, In the event that someone was new to using these, they did let them know to cook low and slow which is very important when using these pots and pans ( as I said they are temperamental).
So going forward I say absolute best I've cooked with in my new absolute favorite pot and pans in my kitchen. This company has got my seal of approval!!!

    Practical and beautiful set

I got this #freeproduct to review. I’ve been cooking with it for the past couple weeks and I have to admit I quite like the set. It’s made of sturdy steel, the handles are nicely shaped, the cookware holds a constant temperature well, no steam escapes from the lids once covered and nothing sticks to it.

Honestly I’m quite a happy camper over here. I managed to get a beautiful sear on my beef, deglazed it to perfection afterwards and ended up with a lovely Ragu. I used the pots as well. The small one was perfect for my sauce béchamel and the bigger one for my improvised dahl soup (normally the dahl sticks a little at the bottom but I forgot it a little longer than I meant to and yet nothing happened so I’m quite pleased)

Mind you, I’m used to stainless steel cookware. It’s a material that’s a staple in any kitchen…as long as you follow a few rules. So it’s not beginner friendly but the rules are simple.

The main rule of cooking with stainless steel: it doesn’t play well with big variance of temperature ( a.k.a you can’t drop cold water/oil on hot pan or hot water on cold pan). You risk damaging/warping the metal, plus risk your protein sticking to the pan.

    How to avoid it sticking:
    - Before adding oil to the pan you have to wait till it reaches the right temperature. To check just drop a bit of water in the pan. If it sizzles, the temp is too low but if the water turns into beads that dances on the pan you can add your oil
    - After adding oil, wait for the oil to heat up then add your meat/vegetables.
    - After adding them, don’t move them. They will naturally unstick after leaving it to cook for a bit.
    - When you’re done cooking, don’t pour cold water in the pan, again damage.

Also, when washing the set, use a gentle dish soap ( like bar keepers), leave the cookware to soak if needed, don’t scrap the rougher side of the sponge on it. Afterwards, dry it immediately. It’s the best way to ensure a stainless steel stays for ages. Also, this set is not dishwasher friendly (maybe because of the copper). As an apropos, even without the copper, I’ve always been taught not to put any stainless steel set in a dishwasher.

The only 2 negatives if you’re looking for some would be that the handle on the lids can get quite warm. The manual provided mentions it and advises to always use a cloth when touching it. Personally, that didn’t bother me too much. The side handle of the cookware though are made of very thick metal that’s quite pleasant.

The second point would be that for a comprehensive set, I could have done with one less pot and added instead a larger pan. I honestly think the 9,5 inch pan here is too small. It only leaves enough space for two small pieces of steak or a regular sized chicken breast. Anymore than that and you’re overcrowding the pan (temperature drops too low and steam forms which kinda defeats the purpose). It’s fine when I’m cooking for myself and my partner but otherwise I prefer to use my other bigger pan to cut on time.

I’d definitely recommend this beautiful set if it’s meant for two people.

Note: however much I adore my many stainless steel cookware, there’s one thing I would never use it for and that’s eggs…unless you like them very crisp and brown. It’s a free world but personally scramble eggs always equals non-stick pan.
