just okay

I wanted to try out these PC dry-rubbed, hardwood-smoked chicken wings as I was intrigued by the new flavor choice. In addition, these chicken wings were on sale for $9.99 a box and 6,000 PC points were awarded with purchase.

I prefer a crunchy-coated chicken wing, but these were kind of slimy. The dry rub and hardwood smoky flavor tasted too much like bacon and not enough like chicken. I am happy that I bought this product to try out, however I do not plan on purchasing these chicken wings again.

These were easy to make. I baked them in the middle of the oven (although it says to put on bottom rack). I cooked them for exactly the amount of time recommended on the box (old electric oven).

They cooked up with dry skin and moist chicken inside. The maple barbecue sauce doesn't look like there is enough to coat the wings, but if you toss them in a mixing bowl and stir them with a spoon, it's just enough. I loved the taste & texture of these wings. The sauce was just sweet enough and the flavour of the sauce worked really well with the hardwood dry rubbed wings.

The box I had was mostly just flats and only 6 drumettes were in the box. I prefer the flat part of the wing over the drumette so that was good for me and I'm only mentioning it in case someone else really doesn't. It could have just been random that this box was like that though. I will have to see when I buy them again. I'm hoping the excessive flats continue though.

I only wish the price was less, but at least I didn't feel like I wasted the money on this box.
