They're ok

I had the opportunity to try these Jackfruit Pepperoni slices and made pepperoni cheese crisps with them.
They smell just like pepperoni and look and taste similar as well. But I found the slices a bit oily and they kind of crumble apart if you let them thaw out too much, so its better to prep them while they're partially frozen. They're not as solid as real pepperoni, so the texture of them kind of threw me off. I wasn't a fan because of this, but they don't taste terrible if you don't mind texture.
I don't normally eat plant based foods, but this was a neat opportunity to try these out, and I would totally recommend to friend who are on a plant based diet.

I had the chance to try the Jackfruit Pepperoni and I'm very surprised by the result. It's a product that's easy to use for a busy weeknight. The taste and texture are very close to real pepperoni. I recommend it. A great find!

Super yummy with pesto!!

Overall I would give the jackfruit pepperoni a 3.75/5 but let me explain why! I am not fully plant based or vegan or vegetarian etc. I live an ‘intentionally imperfect sustainable lifestyle’ and make conscious choices as i’m able to/have the capacity. That being said, I am also not generally a
‘meat alternative’ person. If I am choosing to eat meat, I’m eating meat. If I’m choosing to eat plant based, I am eating simple, whole foods that are unapologetically themselves.
THAT BEING SAID, pepperoni is a food that often has dangerous additives no matter what, and sometimes, you just want a cheesy quesadilla with pepperoni without ingesting things like sodium nitrates, or dangerous artificial preservatives in to your body! That’s where I give this product props because it really does give you that farm-to-fresh feel while still satisfying the salty, slightly spicy zing that pepperoni gives you. I will say though, the flavour is quite strong, and I made the mistake of putting quite a lot into my quesadilla. I think one small layer would have been just perfect. I’m super curious to try out the dumplings next, I think those would be right up my alley. Also love that this brand is sold at superstore!

Edible, but not quite for me

I received the Plantropy Jackfruit Pepperoni for free in exchange for my honest review. My family and I are not vegan or plant-based, so this was something completely new for me to try. I decided to keep it simple and used it to make a pita pizza. I’ve had plant-based products before, and while I’m usually open to them, I found that this one missed the mark for my personal taste. The flavor was a bit too far off from traditional pepperoni for me to really enjoy it. That said, it is definitely edible and I can appreciate the concept and ingredients—it just wasn’t something I found myself wanting to eat over and over again. I think plant-based eaters or those used to jackfruit alternatives may enjoy it more than I did.

This was interesting

Okay so hear me out… the taste was really good… I love jackfruit but this to me didn’t even taste like jackfruit this literally tasted like I was eating a regular pepperoni. I enjoy eating meat, but as an alternative this would totally go unnoticed taste wise for sure. It was delicious, I likely would buy it again but it seems to be a hot commodity because it took me weeks to find it

Best healthy alternative I have found.

We used this on a family pizza the other night and no one would have guessed that it was a meat alternative. Delicious and so flavourful. We will definitely be using it again .

Pretty dang close to pepperoni

I really enjoyed how tasty and easy to use this product was! I’ve tried a couple of the Plantropy products now, and I’m impressed with everyone. I’ve tried. This one tastes very similar to regular pepperoni, but is a healthy and vegan alternative that suits anyone’s diet. Made some delicious pizza bites for Christmas Eve and they were a hit!

Amazing Flavour

I was genuinely curious to try this. As an Indian I often get bland food options here, it is a great topping for quick dinners. I love that it is gluten free, I grew up eating jackfruit so I definitely love the flavour.
It thaws quick so doesn’t need preparation. It’s easy to cook just like any other food topping and quite versatile, it works quite well on sandwiches too.

A Great Veg Pepperoni alternative!

I tried out Plantropy’s jackfruit pepperoni made from sustainably grown jackfruit!  The texture of the pepperoni is soft and juicy which was perfect with my homemade gluten free macaroni and cheese.  I am very happy to see a meat alternative that is also gluten free! Vegan and tasty

I tried Plantropy’s Jackfruit Pepperoni and I really like it! It’s vegan but tastes really good. I put it on pizza and in a grilled cheese sandwich, and it was delicious. I also like that it’s healthy — no cholesterol, gluten, soy, or sugar. I will definitely buy it again!
