Good product but a bit expensive
I used my coupon to #getitfree at Walmart. There were three different sizes of Rubbermaid FreshWorks Produce Saver. The coupon was for the a middle size one. The container itself fit approx. one package of Strawberries which is what I used to test it. The claim is that it helps fruit/veggies last longer. There is a special moisture lock system, that helps with this process. I did find it helped control the moisture and therefore they lasted a few days longer. So I would say it was effective! The container itself is really well made and sealed very tightly. Although it seemed a bit expensive to me (over 10.00), I suppose if it saves fruit from going bad in the long run you #savemoney. I liked this product and will continue to use it for berries in particular. I am curious to try the larger one for bigger veggies. It does say they last longer when not cut up so having the smaller container excluded some of the larger veggies I would have tried.
Amazing Product!
I received this product free as part of the ChickAdvisor Product Review Club.
I was really impressed with this product. I buy a lot of produce for juicing, and It's crazy how much I waste due to it spoiling. Strawberries that usually start spoiling within a few days were still looking/tasting amazing a 1.5 weeks later.
If you make fresh fruit juice, or smoothies... buy these containers. They're a bit pricey, but you'll no longer be losing some of the product/fruit you buy. In the long run, it'll save you money.
I absolutely recommend, and plan on buying more containers!
No more wasting produce!
We have a cherry tree in our front yard that produced so many cherries. I used the Medium FreshWorks container for some of them and they have lasted longer than the rest, for sure. I'm really glad I was able to test this as part of the ChickAdvisor product review club because I would have been dissuaded by the price in store, but now I know I'll save money by not throwing out fruits and veggies that only last a couple of days!
Finally something to keep my fruit fresh
I had the opportunity to try the Rubbermaid Fresheorks Produce Saver and I actually really enjoyed it. I picked up the Rubbermaid product at Walmart and read the instructions based on the label. It's stated it should keep my fruit fresh 80% longer. I am not entirely sure if it was 80% longer but I do know I had my fruit in the fridge for 4.5 days and was still fresh. With other containers by day 2 I would have had to throw it out or it would have been soggy. I'm very impressed and can't wait to keep using it.
The only downside to the product is the price depending on how long the product will last. At $13 it is a bit pricy if your not sure how or why you need it. But as soon as you realize it could be saving you money it's
Completely worth it!
FreshWorks is the perfect name for this product! It works!
I was so excited to try this product when I was selected by Chick Advisor as I am someone who constantly buys fruits and veggies but always seem to forget about them and within days find they go bad. Lucky for me, I actually got to enjoy my strawberries days later because Rubbermaid's FreshWorks owned up to its name and kept my produce fresh.
I also love the quality of the container: it's not flimsy like so many other tupperware plastics. It also has a tight seal without being impossible to open. And, on top of everything else it's easy to clean.
The only slight negative about this product is the price. Yes I #gotitfree but when I went to pick it up at Walmart I was a bit shocked at the $13 price tag. I bought a 6L storage bin for less. It also seems like a better deal to pay an extra $3 and buy the large FreshWorks container. I do however, really like the size of the medium for berries and other fruits. I just don't know if this is something I would have picked up based on price prior to trying it free.
Overall, I would recommend this product as it stands up to its claims, but I'd also hope it goes on sale before purchasing another.
I would buy it for my prepared rice but not for my fruit..
#gotitfree I was given the opportunity to try the new Rubbermaid FreshWorks Produce Saver which was fantastic because my strawberry garden was ready to pick. I filled the container with my unwashed fruit as instructed & stored it in the fridge for 7 days. On day 7 I removed container from fridge and checked the results. Usually strawberries last one day due to eating in my house so this was a record already. The strawberries were still nice & red but had become very soft and moist almost wet. On picking up the container it fell through my fingers to the floor spilling the contents on the floor. Prior to that they were still ok to make a stewed topping for sundaes. I would buy the larger container for my green leaf lettuce but not for my fruit. I was not satisfied with this container for that purpose. I have since used it to store prepared rice & for this iit was great. I feel there is room for improvement for fruit use. I would recommend it for other purposes. #RubbermaidFreshWorks
This product is fantastic, it has saved so many strawberries
I was a little skeptical about this product at first because it didn't seem likely that a container could make such a difference in how long my fresh fruit would last. Also, It was a little on the pricey side so I would have been very disappointed if it didn't work.
Boy, was I surprised when I started using the containers. My usually very perishable strawberries were lasting up to 2 weeks in the fridge in incredably good condition.
I put the unwashed berries into the container as soon as I bring them home, as directed and that's it. All you have to do after that is enjoy your fruit or vegetable for way longer than you will expect to.
These containers are worth every penny. I am planning to buy a few more.
Mushrooms yes, but......wouldn't buy again.
I was looking forward to trying out the Rubbermaid Fresh Works container and to saving me money from not having my fruit go mouldy and rotten. The first fruit I tried was a full pack of strawberries. Unfortunately after 3 days the berries started showing rot. I emptied the Rubbermaid Fresh Works container, washed it and dried it and then tried mushrooms. 3 days later the mushrooms were still looking fine, but had to use them. Will try the container again with some other fruit and see if I change my opinion of the product.
Wow!!!!!
