Great for iced coffee lovers that like coconut!
I'm not really a fan of coconut but do love dark chocolate and enjoy a cold coffee from time to time. I found the coconut flavour too strong for my taste but my husband really enjoyed it.
Flavourful and fun
I really enjoyed the flavour of this coffee, it is quite fragrant and has the perfect kick to wake you up in the morning, without an overpowering dark chocolate or coconut taste. I really enjoyed the fact that this is a pour over ice type of coffee because I haven’t tried anything else like this yet.
Coffee with a Hint of Coconut
On its own, the coffee was a bit bitter, which is why I enjoy adding milk to it to tone down the bitterness, but it also helps to better bring out the coconut flavour. I like how the coffee is not sour tasting, but I wish it had a more complex coconut flavour. The coffee can be enjoyed hot or cold and one cup keeps me energizes throughout the afternoon.
Drink of the summer
The coffee flavor with chocolate and coconut undertones is delicious. Love how easy iced coffee will be with this! Definitely my summer drink! I will be recommending it to anyone who has a keurig!
Dark Chocolate Coconut!
As a coffee lover myself, I really like to taste new things! I was very pleased with this flavour! The first time, I added a little bit of maple syrup for an additional sweetness and the second time, a little bit of almond milk! I enjoyed it both times! Really looking forward trying the others ones !
Dark Chocolate Coconut Review
I had the opportunity to try Van Houtte's new flavour of coffee. It is dark chocolate and coconut. This is a medium roast coffee that is meant to be brewed over ice. It is super easy to make and comes in k-cup format that can be used in a keurig machine. While brewing you can already smell the chocolate and coconut mix. You can have this coffee black or add milk, sugar or creamer. I added a but of cream and it made for a really delicious summer drink to enjoy on a hot day. I think this is a nice addition to my coffee cabinet as it adds a bit of variety. It is a unique flavor I had not tried before receiving this product and I can honestly say I love it! I would recommend this flavor to anyone who loves chocolate and coconut or wants to try a new flavor.
Refreshing Iced Coffee at home!
Nothing like refreshing with an iced cold coffee on a hot Canadian summer morning!
This is a great blend of dark chocolate with a subtle hint of coconut aroma (both are my favs!) in a medium roast.
My keurig doesn’t come with the ice option so I brewed the coffee first, let it cool for a few minutes and poured it into a tumblr filled with ice and added creamer.
Thank you so much to @thisisbutterfly @vanhouttecoffee for sending this for free and giving me a chance to try it and give an honest review!
Lots of coconut flavour
Thank you to Van Houtte and Butterly for sending a box of pods for me to try. I was excited for the flavour but it’s mainly coconut with little chocolate coming through. Still really easy to make and get ready in the morning and stronger than a regular coffee pod so I’ll definitely look at more flavours.
Delightful everyday treat!
I’m not usually one for iced coffee. I drink coffee mostly out of necessity, not desire - but I always opt for the flavoured options (the ones that taste less like coffee). This was an easy and tasty drink option! Filling up a travel cup with ice made it easy to brew iced. Using the strong feature on my Keurig kept the flavour from being diluted with the addition of ice. I found the coconut taste to be really really subtle. Somewhat present in aroma but more of an aftertaste than an initial flavour. It complemented the chocolate well. I find a lot of the chocolate flavoured coffees to have a really artificially sweet taste, but the addition of the coconut softened the overall flavour.
It took some fiddling to find the best way to brew it, but once I did it was an easy way to enjoy what felt like a more indulgent coffee (a departure from the norm!). Perfect timing for the first day of summer this week!
