Too high a dose for me

This is a lot of vitamin C. Since the recommended amount is:

    -Men, 90 mg per day
    -Women, 75 mg per day
-Pregnant women, 85 mg per day
-Breastfeeding women, 120 mg per day

it's true that 1000mg a day is a little excessive. I've seen 250mg as a recommendation before and the highest limit is around 2000mg. However, because this is such a large amount, I definitely wouldn't recommend it if you tend to have a sensitive stomach. It can easily cause gastrointestinal distress in these cases.

In the case of any supplement it's important to check with your doctor, but it's very important in this case as Vitamin C can cause problems with various blood thinning medications, amongst others.

In my opinion, this is just too much Vitamin C per dose, but it's not a dangerous amount. The good news is, since it's only one capsule a day, these will last you 250 days. I also like that there's no artificial stuff in it and the capsules are vegetarian. They're not too big either. Considering it's 1000mg it's about double the size of most medicine capsules, there's a lot of powder in there so they are a little bigger, but it's not difficult to swallow them if you don't have problems with capsules.

As far as I can tell, they seem to be good quality and Viva seems to be a good company, but I prefer to take around 200mg of Vitamin C, so I'd pass on these.
