I received YUM Buttery spread, 500g, £1.30 and YUM Green Pesto Soft Cheese, 250g, £1.75 for free from YUM to try and review. YUM is a new, exclusive to Tesco range of butters and spreads produced by Arla, which owns Lurpark and Anchor.

Both spreads come in eye catching black tubs with bold logo and vibrant food visuals. I immediately liked the packaging and I think these spreads are guaranteed to stand on a supermarket shelf amongst a vast variety of yellow tubs. Underneath the plastic lid the spreads are protected by silver foil for freshness. The tubs seemed to be a little flimsy and the lid wouldn't click on easily.

I really enjoyed YUM Buttery Spread, it has a lovely smooth texture and buttery colour and was very easy to spread straight from the fridge. It also contains half the fat and calories than the buttery spread my family is using at the moment and still tastes lovely. Although nothing beats real butter for taste I was perfectly happy with YUM and would buy it again. It's contains less fat and calories than butter and has vitamins A and D but so has flavourings, preservatives and a small amount of salt.

YUM Green Pesto Soft Cheese was absolutely divine. The combination of delightful creaminess of cheese and freshness of rocket & basil was a gorgeous explosion of taste, it was soooo YUM I just couldn't have enough! There's no doubt I will be buying it again and also would love try other varieties such as Original , Garlic & Herb and Pink & Black Peppercorn.

Thumbs up to YUM! These spreads are great for livening up mealtimes. I had some home made mini burgers with YUM mash and broccoli for dinner and wholemeal toast with YUM soft cheese for lunch. Delicious.. Just add your imagination!

    YUM Rocks!

I made some rock cakes with YUM Buttery spread and they came out gorgeous. Mouthwatering, soft and crumbly inside with rough golden appearance they were a pure delight to eat. This recipe was given to me a very good friend of mine, Louise, and has been tried and tested many times without a fail, i've contemplated keeping this secret to myself but that's not the spirit, right? They are easy peasy to make and are great fun for children and adults alike. Serve them warm with lashings of YUM Buttery Spread as an excellent teatime treat.
