My favorite vegan restaurant. They have so many options to choose from. After trying many different ones, My favorite is the Energy Bowl with soba noodles. They also have amazing onion rings made with quinoa and delicious indian dosas to share as an appetizer. It is very cozy and friendly but I wish they had just a bit more space between the tables.
I recently changed to a vegan diet and this restaurant is right by my office so I go to it when I need to buy lunch. It's amazing! I love their food - I recommend the squash tacos, and also a whoopie pie for dessert. The flavours are amazing, the menu is huge, and the portion sizes are really big. It is a bit more pricey but you're getting good quality food that they make in house. It's all fresh, organic, vegan deliciousness! Definitely try it.
I was recently introduced to Fresh on Spadina with a friend who is an avid fan of the restaurant. I was skeptical but I really enjoyed the meals that we had. I sampled the energy bowl and the buddha bowl but enjoyed the buddha bowl much better. I am a big meat person but I enjoyed Fresh for its vegetarian fare. I will definitely return to Fresh with vegetarian friends in the future.
I was introduced to Fresh on Spadina about 5 years ago and it instantly became my favorite restaurant, and I am a meat lover. I am such a picky eater that it can be hard for me to go to restaurants and find something I like. I have yet to try something on their menu that wasn't amazing. It's now hard to go in and pick something to eat, because I like everything on the menu. The restaurant is always packed (which is a good thing), clean and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.
I just had lunch there and it was really nice. It was crowded which I take to be a good thing, and the service was really good. The waiter came back on multiple occasions to check up on us and changed our water even though the bottle wasn't empty yet. The food was really healthy too which is a plus. The only downside was that since it was so crowded, we waited quite a while to get our food.
I was always hesitant about trying out vegetarian restaurants, but this place is great! I have the chickpea curry wrap, and it was delicious! I was afraid at first that the portion might be too small, but I couldn't even finish my own plate. They make the food very filling there!
I especially like that I feel energetic after leaving the restaurant, because normally I would feel tired and unwilling to do work after having a big meal.
The waitresses were great, and all were polite. They even suggested some meals that I might like, and made me want to come again!
It's quite crowded, but somehow my friend and I were seated immediately.
I would definitely encourage everyone to try out this place when in the area!
Ali and Kellie mentioned Fresh one morning as a possible caterer for one of their upcoming meetings, so I decided to look up the restaurant. The menu and images looked great, so I decided to give it a shot.
At first I was a little hesitant. I'm not a hard core carnivore, but I still like some meat in my food. However, after taking a look around and seeing what people were satisfyingly biting into, my mouth watered, and I ordered a BBQ burger with cheddar cheese.
It was absolutely delicious! I'm getting hungry just thinking about it now. I heard that the sweet potato fries with dip is good too.
I love fresh!! I am not a vegetarian and I would still rate it as some of the best food in the city. I usually get a wrap or the Warrior bowl (noodles or brown rice, cooked spinach and a chickpea/curry sauce.) Can't go wrong. The food is a bit on the pricey side but definitely worth it (I usually get two meals out of whatever I eat because there is so much!) They offer sit down meals and take out and I guarantee you won't be disappointed with your meal.
Great concept, great execution. An okay place. Food is good. Overpriced though, considering everything can be bought in Chinatown. And planting chopsticks on the rice/noodles is extremely bad etiquette!!!
Still recommended for everyone.
I have been to this one and the Bloor St. location. The "Fresh" chain is one of my most favourite vegetarian restaurants. I haven't been to the Crawford location yet, but I'm sure it's also good. Although the interior is not as fancy as the Bloor one, I prefer Spadina sometimes more often because it is way less busy. Love the food! It can be expensive depending on what "add-ons" you put in your order. I always love coming here. Sometimes I find mysef craving Fresh... hahaha. Highly recommended.
