This cozy little cafe is located in Winnipeg's French district on Provencher Blvd, close to the Forks.

The cakes here are delicious and they have a nice selection of specialty coffees and sandwiches. Most of us ordered cake so I can't really vouch for the other menu items, but the cakes were sooo yummy and there were many to choose from. I ordered a cappuccino, which was very good. The cafe is small and quaint, with most of the tables towards the back of the cafe and a few at the front by the window.

My one critique would be the service. My friend arrived late and waited 20 minutes to be served only to be informed that the kitchen had just closed (10 min after her arrival) so she could only order cake. She ordered her cake and then had to wait for 30 minutes to get it (presumably the server forgot) and she was still charged full price. The rest of us had good service and I expect this incident was because the cafe was quite busy even though it was a Tuesday evening and the staff appeared to be somewhat limited.

They take reservations but have unusual hours of operation so I recommend calling ahead. It is a cute spot for an after dinner desert or an intimate snack with friends.
