HUGELY overpriced for the shoddy quality you get. Customer service exists only until you sign your credit card slip - after that, the pretense is over. They don't care about you. They don't care if your brand new bag rips through the stitches, or if your boots or your jacket fall apart weeks or even days after purchase. All three of these things happened to me in the past year. But why should they care when they refuse to give you your money back even in the case of defective merchandise - the best they will do is give you a credit slip but that means your money is already tied up with them.

The styles are very fashionable but the items are made in China, at a factory that obviously doesn't do a very good job at quality control. The people who work at Rudsak really don't have any power - they just want to sell it to you. Basically, you are spending money just on the style, but if you want to do that, go to Forever 21 where disposable clothing comes with disposable-level prices.

As a former Rudsak employee who has recently had to suffer through their ridiculous "customer service" (if you can even call it that) policies, I really feel the need to warn people to BE WARE of shopping with this company. The designs are beautiful, unique and interesting, but the quality is absolutely sub par on every level.

Throughout my 2 years with them, I came to discover that the majority of the products produced by Rudsak are defective or damaged in someway upon being delivered to the stores. A few styles from the Fall 2010 women's boots collection were delivered with MOULD growing on the leather. Instead of recalling them, we were told by head office to just wipe the mould off and sell them anyways.

The facing on the belt buckles on many of the women's winter coats, which retailed for $400 most of the time, often fell or broke off, exposing the cheap cardboard/aluminum they were made with. Instead of finding a better quality way of fabricating them, head office instead told us to just keep sticking them back on and hope for the best.

The bags that were marketed as "Laptop Carriers" had terrible quality stitching that would rip or tear under the weight of a computer, often sending the buyer's computer hurtling to the ground; this I know from personal experience, unfortunately.

When met with customers who these concerns or similar quality issues, the GTA district manager would often tell us to advise them that their problems were "wear and tear", and that there was nothing we could do about it. I remember a lady coming in with a pair of boots that were in pristine condition and looked almost brand new, but the heel had broken off irreparably. I was told by the district manager to tell her we couldn't do anything. No exchange, no store credit, and certainly no refund. This is one of countless occasions where customers were shafted and essentially ripped off by this company. Working there honestly tugged at my conscience; I'm surprised I lasted as long as I did.

My advice for people who wish to continue shopping with this brand is this:
    1) WAIT until the products go on sale. Rudsak has several weekend-long promotional events per season, so look out for those. Also, all the merchandise WILL go down to 50% off or more by the end of the season, no matter what the employees are trained to convince you.
    2) AVOID the laptop bags, duffles and any other bag that's meant to carry any real weight! The stitching is not nearly strong enough to hold weight, and most of the time the straps are actually glued in, and the stitching is just superficial. The down coats are warm and well designed for the most part, but the boots are a toss-up, so look over any items you plan on buying extra carefully! If something goes wrong, this company will go out of their way to keep your money, regardless of the fact that their products are defective!

I recently received a Rudsak purse and I love the quality of this purse. The leather's texture is amazing and I get many complements on this purse when I wear it out and about. I also enjoy the fact that it is a Montreal label...Canada made. The store itself also carries many beautiful pieces of clothing...definitely worth looking into.

I've been a big fan of Rudsak ever since I started attending Fashion Week in Toronto. Rudsak is a Montreal label designed by Evik Astoorian, who started his career in footwear before getting into the leather business with his family.

Though they launched in 1994 and are one of the fastest growing labels in leather garments in North America, they've only recently started getting the street cred they deserve. This is largely thanks to their popular shows at Toronto and Montreal Fashion Weeks, and more recently, their newly opened boutiques on Queen Street West and Sherway Gardens in Toronto and a few in Quebec.

Rudsak is known for its signature leather accents in jackets and coats, and leather accessories. This is a great store to buy a trench for spring, a winter coat or an uber cute leather jacket. I also really like the leather handbags and wallets.

They carry mens and womens apparel and even have jeans and a few tops, which are reasonably priced. This is a must shop for Canadian designer wear and the prices are comparable to big chain stores. Regular priced coats run from about $200 - $600.

Since I posted this review I have purchased many items from Rudsak and have noticed the quality over the last couple of years has been slipping. The style is better than ever but the finishes like zippers on jackets or handles on bags really don't hold up.

I bought one of their $600 winter coats and so far every season the zipper has split down the middle and had to be replaced. It costs $50-$60 to replace a zipper on a coat like that. I also had a purse where the handles started coming off within a few months of purchase. Luckily Rudsak repaired it for me, but since that time, they changed their policy to 3 months from purchase to help out with any type of repairs. It just shows they are aware they have a problem and aren't interested in helping you solve it.

I still want to support Rudsak as I LOVE the designs, but they either need to get the items made somewhere else or improve their product warranty. A $600 jacket should last for many seasons, not just one or two.
