The dom is probably one of the best bars in ottawa. the bartenders and bouncers and people are always super friendly. when you walk in there. when i walk in there its like cheers...you know "where everybody knows your name"

A door down from my favourtie bar, Zaphod's, is another great find- The Dominion Tavern. Yes, it's small, but that's part of it's charm. It has two pool tables, and a decent back patio to hang out at. If you're a trendy hipster that enjoys dance music, just stop reading, because this place is probably not for you. This is a more low-key, punk rock and metal sort of joint.

The only food that I have ever had here is this weird free stringy cheese they offer sometimes. Let me just say that it does not go well with beer. If you want a fancy cocktail you wont find it here. It's your standard beer place, with few mixed drinks, like long islands, and vodka limes.

It's not quite a dive, but I don't know what to call the Dom. Cool in it's own way, it doesn't care, which makes it cool I guess.

Dress code: there is none. Wear what you want because the crew at the Dom doesn't really care. Come one, come all, everyone is welcome! That's what I enjoy most. I never feel out of place here. It's like one big family.
