This place has great events and bands, and a fairly decent crowd every night of the week. They serve great drinks and hire very speedy, competent bartenders............but the place is increadibly dirty inside. The biggest turn off for me was that my shoes kept sticking to the very disgusting carpet which surrounds the main bar area. I don't like standing on carpet that has booze all over it and probably some puke. They need to invest in tearing that stuff up, I felt dirty sitting on their stained couches and the bathroom is disgusting. With a little investment in a make-over the place would be wonderful.

if you like awesome music, good people and tasty drinks, zaphods has it. they put on super rad concerts of varying types of bands. they support the local scene and have specialty nights. what more could you ask for? cute bartenders? oh alright zaphods has that too:P

Okay, so I've never really eaten here, although they make some basic bar foods. I'm rating the drinks. If you've ever read the Hitch Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy, then you get the name of the bar. And what would Zaphod's be without the signature drink from the books- the pan galactic gargle blaster? It's not for everyone, but I highly enjoy them. I have to have one every time I go to Zaphod's.

A Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster:
1 oz Jack Daniel's Tennessee whiskey
1 oz peach schnapps
4 - 6 oz orange juice
1 splash Blue Curacao liqueur

It's an acquired taste I guess. I just love it. I didn't think that I would, but I do!

Other drinks named after the book are Deep Thought, Slartibartfast, and a few others. Zaphod's is a great place to enjoy a drink with friends and see great local talent, as well as the slightly more famous. I've seen Matthew Good, Robin Black here, The Miniatures, The Organ, and Controller.Controller to name a few.

All in all, a great fun place to be most nights of the week. There's always something going on and everyone is always welcome!
