The Macbook is definitely expensive in comparison to other laptops. However, it is worth the money! The battery lasts at least 5 hours. I love that it does not download anything without your permission. It is a product ( as well as a brand) that will continue to sell, due to its durability and performance.

We purchased a MacBook about three months ago, and we'll never go back to a PC again. Most of its basic functions are just like any other computer, but i've never owned a computer that's as user-friendly as the MacBook. Everything is just so intuitive, and I love that you can customize the trackpad so that different types of swipes perform different functions!
For anyone considering buying the Mac versions of Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.) for general personal use, save the money and just get the Mac suite of Pages, Numbers and Keynote (Mac versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint). These programs are just as good, and the "Save Copy as Word (or Excel, etc.) Document) means that you can send the documents off to a PC user with no issues whatsoever.
When we first bought our Mac, I intended to continue to use our old PC for editing photos, since I'd invested in Adobe Lightroom a few years ago. What's happened, though, is that I've realized just how great iPhoto is for basic processing (white balance, exposure, colour saturation, basic retouching) -- I now only boot up the old PC when I'm going to do some heavy-duty processing and need the additional creativity that Lightroom allows. iPhoto (pre-built into Macs) is a fantastic program, and would be more than enough for most casual photo editors.

    Worth it!

We have had our Mac Laptop for 2 years now. Before this, we had a PC - and always had trouble with it. Things would break down...it was terribly slow...Messy organization...and so on and so on...

Our Mac is so much easier and faster to work with, has far more options, and is simply - more fun :)

We would not go back to a PC - they are simply not worth the money (Cheaper is not always better!).

The only draw back for me was getting used to the different set up - but once I was used to it, it seemed to make so much more sense than the PC's setup.

I have been using this machine for three years with no problems. It is fast. The boot time is so fast that the PC in my household boot my computer rather than use theirs. Fully equiped with a superdrive which reads and writes CDs and DVDs, it comes pre-loaded with multimedia software which allows you to compose and play original music create, edit and watch your own DVDs. The wordprocessing software, Pages, gives such a wide range of professional options for document presentation that i still have not finished discovering all the possibilities.

This is a stable computer which is virtually problem free, it does not freeze or crash unless using Beta version software, even while running many programmes simultaneously.

I bought my Aluminum Macbook about a month ago and I'm so happy I got it. It's so easy to use and I love the "multi-finger" navigation! Since it's less susceptible to get viruses I don't have to really worry about buying products like McAfee or Norton...

When I began University five years ago I had used nothing but my family's desktop PC. I barely checked my e-mail and used the computer mostly for word processing purposes. When I went off to school my parents bought me a laptop PC. It worked fine at first however after less than a year I was already having issues with the machine. It had become extremely slow, I got many error messages and it was always overheating. The computer was under warranty and I had the fan replaced twice within a year. I had the computer a total of 2 years before it caught on fire and I needed to replace it. I saw some of my university friends with Mac computers and they told me they loved them. Never having used a MacBook I was uncertain. The operating system was different and I had heard it was difficult to learn. Not knowing much about computers and being fed up with PC's I decided to buy a MacBook. I bought the version with the most memory and a DVD burner. The cost was more than a PC would have been but I was able to use the student discount offered at my university.

I am so glad I chose to purchase the MacBook. I never get error messages and the operating system was extremely easy to learn to use. I would never switch back to a PC. Nearly every application on a PC is available on a Mac and it works better! I have now had my computer for two years and it works exactly like it did when I first bought it. It is no slower and doesn't give me anymore trouble than it did the day I bought it.

Applications are easy to navigate, the desktop is clean and the MacBook multitasks fabulously.

    I recommend this product greatly!

I've owned this little guy for two years. No anti-virus software and I have been completely virus free. It runs just as fast as the day I got it.

Recommended for everyone looking for a computer to stand the test of time. And the warranty provided is amazing

It was a bit of adjustment switching from PC to a Mac. For me, it takes a bit of time to learn how to use it.
