So like the other reviewers, I was pretty excited to get this as part of the Product Review Club and finally (hopefully) get rid of my tired-looking eyes. The product smells good, it felt good going on, BUT much to my dismay, it did not do anything I was expecting it to do. I dunno, maybe I'm just more fatigued than the other people that used this product and had it work for them but as far as making me look less tired, or puffy, or getting rid of dark circles....you can check off a big 'no' on all those attributes for me. I was very disappointed as I had high hopes so I guess it's on to the next 'miracle' product! Oh, and definitely would not recommend this to anyone nor would I waste my money buying it myself. Sorry, Aveeno!
I was really excited to receive this in the mail, as this was a product I had been wanting to try!
I was somewhat impressed with its overall effectiveness, although I think I had set my expectations quite high!
The skin around my eyes did feel smooth, but didn't necessarily appear smoother. But perhaps it did when you got real up close and personal. I suppose I was expecting to look fantastic after rolling it under my eyes right away. It is definately easy to use, and not messy, some cream products cause more of a mess than necessary, but this is very simple.
I debated for awhile if I would recommend this to someone else, but realized this is most likely one of those products that has varying results depending on age, skin type etc.
I found the product felt like it left an oily residue on my skin, but I am unsure if this would occur on someone who has skin that is more dry, so it would absorb better.
The price is reasonable, compared to someof the overpriced products on the shelves at the local health/beauty stores.
I received the Aveeno Fresh Essentials Anti-Fatigue Eye Roller via the Chick Advisor product review club campaign. It contains vitamin A, C & E, along with an active ingredient southerwood which is said to have cleansing and protective actions. I loved the idea of loading my delicate under eye area with a load of antioxidant and herbal goodness. It's a great little pick-me-up after a long, late night (partying or studying ;]) for the chronic night-owl. Its fruity smell freshens you up and the nice cool feel of the roller ball is just what you need to feel awake. It applies smoothly and helps you look awake, too. I did notice some improvements in the degree of my dark circles and it really helped to depuff my eyes. You can apply make up over it with no problem. Still make sure to moisturize well at night, and use this in the morning as a cherry on top! Recommended :).
When I received this product I started to use it right away. During allergy seasons I find my eyes are usually burning, red and a lil puffy. I used it as directed once in the morning and once at night. Tried not to over apply the product due to the skin being so sensitive there. Just a nice swipe gently below the eyes. It definitely helped cool my eyes down as, as for puffiness it was a subtle change not a huge difference though. It did help with brightening my under eyes though. So I do have to say I enjoy using it in the morning. I feel it helps kill that groggy look you get when you wake up. It's no miracle but it helps a bit.
I received this product through the Product Review Club.
After using it twice a day (morning and before bed) I found that it did nothing to help my dark circles, puffy eyes, which was disappointing. It also stayed wet under my eyes for too long which made it awkward to apply makeup, etc. I went swimming in an indoor chlorinated pool one night before bed and then applied this product afterwards and found that my skin was very sensitive the the product stung on my eyes. I did not have problems with sensitivity other than this.
This product does smell AMAZING, which earns points, just no points for what it is supposed to do.
Overall, I will not be repurchasing this product.
I have a sleep disorder and always appear tired (I cannot regenerate energy). As a result I have dark purple underneath my eyes, and my under-eyes become very puffy.
The Aveeno Anti-Fatigue eye roller helped with the puffiness. The coolness of the ball applied on my under-eyes was very soothing. Not perfectly, but noticeably enough that I was happy with it!
The dark circles were not in any way diminished. I really hoped they would be, even slightly. They were not.
Unfortunately, my concealer did not sit well overtop the product... even when the product was completely dried, the two did not mix well.
I found one swipe of the anti-fatigue roller produced too much product and the skin became overly wet. I found it best to swipe under half my eye, and then smear the excess across the other half with my finger.
I saw these selling for $25, and it’s not something I would spend that much on if the only effect I get is less puffiness. I am personally more concerned with the dark circles I have than puffiness. My glasses hide puffiness, but you cannot hide dark circles.
If puffiness is your problem, this is fantastic! If you are more concerned with dark circles, perhaps skip this product.
After using this product daily for a couple weeks, I didn't notice any change at all to my undereye skin. I feel that there was not a noticeable immediate result either that made my eyes seem more awake. What I did like about this product was its scent (though that has nothing to do with the effectiveness of the product), as well as the way it felt when the cool metal of the applicator ball touched my skin early in the morning. I would not, however, recommend this product nor would I purchase it for myself.
I got this as part of the Product Review Club and I was really excited to try it. I got it just before I would be attending the Diet Coke TIFF party, so I knew that the enxt morning would be perfect for a test drive.
When I put it on, I liked how the metal rollerball - it felt cool on my tired, puffy eyes. I also felt a tingly sensation. I think it did help with the puffiness first thing in the morning.
However, the bad outweighs the good.
I did not like that it takes so long to dry. With other brands I've used, I put it on and then can pretty much apply concealer right after. This one takes a while to dry, so I needed to change up my routine and apply it, then dry my hair, then do my makeup. Not a huge deal, but anooying when I forget to do it. Once it dries, it also has a bit of a sticky residue which I did not like. I also found that it didn't reduce the colour of my undereye circles - this after using it daily for 2 weeks.
There areother products on the markey that are better (such as the Garnier eye roller). I would skip this one!
I was sooooo disappointed in this product! Being someone who is often sleep deprived I was looking forward to having something to finally help me combat the dark puffy eyes I have been so used to having.... This product was not that something.... After using the eye roller as directed, twice a day for the past two weeks there has been no improvement at all. My eyes are still dark and still puffy. I am not sure of the price of this product but regardless any price is too much for a product that doesn't work. :( On the positive side this product smells amazing, but all in all I would not suggest purchasing this.
This product did nothing for me. I don't have too bad of dark circles or puffiness, so I expected it to clear most of it up. But I saw no results after using the eye roller as directed for about 2 weeks.
I did have one very emotional night - lots of tears :"( - and woke up the next morning very puffy. I washed my face with cold water, used the eye roller, and applied an ice pack to my eyes for about 15 minutes, and I did notice a difference, but I would probably attribute that more to the cold compress.
Probably what's worse than this product being so ineffective was that it was actually irritating to apply. Maybe it's because the skin in the undereye area is generally sensitive, but something in the formula gave me a slight stinging/burning sensation when I rolled it on. It wasn't awful, however, and did go away after a few minutes (probably when the liquid absorbed into my skin or dried up). I tried contacting Aveeno to see if I could store it in the refrigerator to see if that would help, but they didn't address my question and passed me on to Johnson & Johnson Canada to report my experience.
I would not recommend this to anyone, especially for $20. If it couldn't remedy my moderate problem, I can't see it being very effective for extreme puffiness/darkness. Try a cold compress and some undereye brightener!
