It came as part of a set - so cost wise, wasn't much impact. It's a handy little brush and works great with the bareMinerals Concealer (go check-out my review for that). It's not big or bulky, fit's easy into a make-up bag, or even in a purse pocket. I've had mine for years, and just clean it as needed
