Breyers Delight Vanilla Bean - 280 calories per pack
I received this product for free from ChickAdvisor for the vanilla bean flavour. Since it is only 280 calories per pack, I have no guilty to finish half of it by myself. It doesn't have a very strong flavour of vanilla bean (it does taste like artificial), and it melts very very fast.It is not a smooth style of ice cream, and don't expect it tastes like the regular ice cream.
But with only 280 calories per pack, I would purchase it again when I am trying to lose weight but want to satisfy my sweet craving.
A health conscious choice
Had a little trouble finding this ice cream but was relieved when I finally did! I tried the vanilla bean. The vanilla flavour was very tasty for being made with skim milk (giving it its lower calories option). I found it to be a little too expensive given the size. I think it’s a great idea for people who are counting calories or are wanting to be more health conscious, however if you want ice cream just get the real stuff.
Breyers Vanilla Bean okay
So I was pretty excited to be a sampler for ice cream... and with the name like Breyers Delights, I was stoked. However, al the store had was Vanilla Bean, which isn't my favourite flavour at all. It is light, fluffy, smooth texture. However I do have to say you can taste the 280 calories. I think if I wanted Ice cream and I was a diabetic, or maybe I couldn't eat too much sugar, this would be the ice cream for me for sure, however I wouldn't buy it again for everyday ice cream use.
Not My Favourite
I was selected to try the Breyer's Delights Vanilla Bean flavour. My first impression was that it had a strange after taste; to me it was kind of like a really weak vanilla flavour and the texture was hard, much, much harder than regular ice cream. I suspect the after taste I detected was due to the sweetener used. The texture just seemed like ice cream that had been in the freezer too long, it was really hard to scoop out of the container. This definitely needs a good amount of thaw time before trying to eat, probably at least 15 minutes.
For the price of these, (over $7 locally) I didn't enjoy it enough to buy again. I have been reading good things about the chocolate flavour though and will definitely be trying that one!
I want to add I have had the chance to try the chocolate and it was SO good! Reminds me of a fudgesicle, I've purchased that flavour twice since this review!
Not worth the price
When I'm looking for an ice-cream I'm not looking because I want something healthy... I don't need extra protein in it and I'm not expecting it to be low in calories. I'd rather have a pretty small portion of a creamier ice cream (like other Breyer's ice creams) than a regular or bigger portion of a thin ice cream. I found the Breyers Delight Vanilla Bean to have a decent flavour through not the creaminess I've come to expect from Breyers. The texture felt a bit off to me but that may have been because the ice cream melted a bit on the drive home and then refroze. Reading the ingredients showed me that the high protein comes largely from frozen egg yolks, while I of course couldn't taste the egg, knowing that they were in my ice-cream makes me less inclined to want to buy this product. I think if someone is really dieting hardcore and wants a treat that has low calories that aren't empty, this could be good for them.

Always a treat
I don't purchase ice cream to get my macros in, so the advertising of a high protein number didn't appeal to me.
The ice cream is smooth and rich, which was a nice surprise, as the "low calorie, high protein" sell made me a bit apprehensive that it wouldn't taste great. There was no chalky protein taste, nor ice crystal texture from it being low calorie.
I received this product complimentary in exchange for my honest review.
A lot of money for not a lot of ice cream.
I received a coupon from ChickAdvisor for a free 500 ml container of Breyers Delights in Vanilla Bean.
The product itself I thought was quite good for a low calorie ice cream. It wasn't as creamy as I had hoped it would be but it's only 70 calories a serving and 280 calories for the whole 500 ml container. You can absolutely indulge in this without feeling guilty.
The only downside is the price. I might buy it as a treat once in a while but it's not something I would buy regularly. It's just too much for such a small amount of ice cream.
Vanilla Victory
I'm a classic vanilla ice cream kind of gal and I was so happy to review this flavour. Made with real vanilla bean, this is a light yet flavourful dessert that can be appreciated alone or accompanied with a piece of apple pie or brownie. Although it doesn't have the super creamy consistency as a traditional ice cream has and the perception of it lacking taste due to the calorie count, it's a true indulgence that you can enjoy without any guilt! The downfall to this product would be the price. Paying at least double the price of a regular tub for half the quantity will make you think twice about purchasing this product a full price.
Not bad for a low calorie ice cream, but a bit pricey.
I received this product free in return for an honest review as a part of the Chickadvisor Product Review Club.
I found the flavour to be light and creamy, though the texture took a bit to get used to. You can definitely tell that it's made with sweetener, as it has a bit of an odd aftertaste. For a low calorie snack though, it's pretty damn good.
The major downside of this is the price. It costs about the same amount as the bigger Breyers ice cream containers. Unless you're really needing to stick to a diet, I would say it's more cost effective to buy a bigger tub of Breyers ice cream and have way more flavour options.
