I loved this ice cream! I tried the creme caramel and the chocolate and they were VERY creamy. None of the bad taste associated with lower fat ice cream at all. The flavours were rich and real. I recommended it to everyone I saw over the May 24.
The only thing I wasn't impressed with was the price, I saw it in the store last weekend for almost $10 a tub!
I was fortunate enough to sample the Breyers Smooth & Dreamy Mocha Fudge Brownie ice cream as part of the Product Review Club, and I'm really glad I was.
Overall, this was a fantastic treat - rich tasting, delicious, and i LOVED the brownie pieces throughout the ice cream. I can say without a doubt that I've never had a better lower-fat ice cream, and there are probably few full-fat ice creams that are this delicious.
However, if I had been paying for this ice cream out of my own pocket, the pricetag would have stopped me in my tracks and that container would still be sitting in the freezer at the grocery store. The regular price at my local Safeway was $8.99, and there is NO WAY I would pay that for a tub of ice cream on a regular basis, no matter how good it is. That said, if I ever see Breyers Smooth & Dreamy on sale, you can bet that it'll make its way into my shopping cart!
I was already a big fan of Breyers to begin with -- their natural vanilla bean ice cream with the full fat is one of my favourites to eat!
That being said, I COULD tell the difference between the full fat and the half, but it wasn't so obvious, that I'd you could switch and not feel deprived.
It doesn't taste like a watery (cheap) ice cream, and for the price of $8.50 (yeah, seriously), it better not!
I tried the Vanilla Bean one, but I'm going back to buy the Strawberry one to do a taste comparison of which one I like better (as I do find Vanilla ice creams on the sweet side, and this one was not).
It is pricey, but I eat a scoop every week or less, so it actually lasts quite a while in my freezer (not a huge binge eater of ice cream).
I didn't taste any graininess in the ice cream either (that's what you get from cheap ice creams that just whip in air), and it was wholly satisfying.
P.S. I did receive it as a free sample from the ChickAdvisor club, so I may be biased.. but truthfully it was yummy.
I was lucky enough to be chosen to sample a free Breyers Smooth and Dreamy ice cream product. I chose the Mocha Fudge Brownie Ice Cream. Wow, it tasted really good!! I couldn't even tell it was half the fat, which makes it my favourite ice cream now since I don't have to worry how many calories are in it! I really tasted the difference in their new creamy technology. I would definately buy this again, and I am going to try the rest of the flavours as well! Two of my friends are already hooked on it as well as I told them to try it. I would have to say that this is the best Breyers ice cream they have ever made!
I am a huge fan of Breyers and so when I got to sample this new product compliments of the Product Review Club, I was over the moon. Although the Mocha Fudge Brownie ice cream is officially low-fat, it tasted positively decadent and epitomizes a guilt-FREE pleasure. Makes a sensible alternative to higher fat ice creams because the taste is still THAT good.
I liked the mix of flavours, the texture and that it wasn't too sugary. It's on sale right now, so I plan to buy more and will definitely recommend it around.
I recently attended the Breyers taste-testing event and my favourite flavour was Mocha Fudge Brownie. I love coffee flavoured ice cream and this one was delicious! The coffee flavours are definitely stronger than the chocolate flavours which I really liked. The mini brownies in the ice cream were a nice surprise, as well as finding out that Smooth & Dreamy had half the fat of regular ice cream! It's also a bit more expensive than regular ice cream but I think this would make a nice splurge once in a while!
