Definitely not bacon

The turkey bacon looks like deli ham when raw; I wanted to eat it uncooked on a cold deli sandwich. Rather than the standard thin 1 inch width-sized strip of meat, these are closer to 3 inches wide. It looks and smells like deli ham. If you're a bacon enthusiast, this will not do it for you. The turkey bacon does not get crisp and it gets tough the more you cook it in the pan. Unlike the pools of fatty grease classic bacon renders there is absolutely no fat when cooking this turkey bacon. Most importantly, this does not taste like bacon - everything about this product screams HAM. If you're looking for a ham alternative then this is good but it is definitely not bacon.

Yummy!

I received this product free for testing purposes from Butterly! This bacon was okay! It cooks up fast and doesn’t use a lot of grease so it’s better for you but it’s processed! There is a ton of it in the package enough for 3 pieces for 4 people twice! We had it with French toast and on a BLT! It does taste like bacon and it has a really good flavour! But you aren’t supposed to overcook it so you can’t make it crispy so it’s very chewy! My family liked it but I don’t think we would buy it again just because it’s not crispy and was really chewy and kind of hard to eat!

Great flavor

This is a great substitute for pork, bacon and much healthier. The applewood flavour is tasty and although I prefer real pork bacon, I would totally substitute this if I was on a health kick.

Turkey Bacon as a Tasty Alternative

Thank you Butterly @thisisbutterly for selecting me as one of your Advocates for your Butterball Canada @butterball_ca campaign. I was sent two Butterball product coupons in exchange for my honest review. One voucher was for a FREE 300 g pack of Butterball Applewood Smoked Turkey Bacon. The other voucher was for a FREE 450 g pack of Butterball Traditional Turkey Franks. I redeemed both of these product coupons at Walmart. 

I feel like I need to explain my photo for the Butterball Applewood Smoked Turkey Bacon. My family loves to BBQ. You could say my Husband and our Son are meat "connoisseurs". They enjoy Bacon and Hot Dogs. I was out voted, and they wanted to wrap the Butterball Applewood Smoked Turkey Bacon around the Butterball Turkey Franks. They had no complaints. 

We all agree that this product was tasty, and had a ham like texture. We didn't get much of the Applewood Smoked flavour. Cooking this Turkey Bacon was sticky in the pan, so we recommend using a non-stick pan. I like how Butterball Applewood Smoked Turkey Bacon is a great source of protein, and made from 100% turkey meat. This product claims to have "85% less fat" than regular pork bacon. It is Gluten-Free, and prepared in Canada. I would recommend this Turkey Bacon to those looking for a flavourful, lower fat alternative to regular bacon.

Crispy bacon

I recently tried the Butterball applewood smoked turkey bacon, and it was pretty good. Although i hardly noticed a smoked flavor, it got nice and crispy when cooked in the oven. I decided to use it in a BLT sandwich, which was a fantastic decision, as it worked perfectly. Overall, I would definitely get this turkey bacon again.
