I’m a big bacon fan and this hit the spot for me. It’s also a healthy choice to fatty bacon which is the most popular ones you would find on the shelves. I recommend 🤞

A good alternative

I enjoyed the butterball applewood smoked turkey bacon as a healthier option and my mother enjoyed it too. Unfortunately it wasn’t a family favourite and wasn’t as crispy as I usually like. The edges did get a little crispy, we cooked it for the full 15 minute recommendation. I also did not find the applewood flavour to be very strong and would have preferred more of that flavour.

The best Turkey bacon I've tried

I was chosen to review Butterball Turkey hot dogs and Butterball turkey bacon in exchange for review.
Personally, I love Butterball products. I find that they are The Only Turkey worth buying for big events such as Thanksgiving or Easter, but also if I just feel like having turkey. So honestly when they started selling their individual pieces of turkey, I jumped at the chance to buy them. And now that I had a chance to review the hot dogs and the bacon. I obviously jumped on that chance as well. I'm very thankful that I was one of those people who was chosen to review it.
Generally, Turkey bacon, I'll eat.... but I'm not the biggest fan of it. I will say that the Butterball Turkey bacon was definitely a lot better than all the other Turkey bacon's I've had. I tried it fried and cooked the oven: both were delicious. I wouldn't say it is on par with other pig bacon, but it definitely makes a great substitute!

Smoky flavour

As a fan of turkey for thanksgiving and Christmas and a regular eater of bacon, I was instantly intrigued when I saw this turkey bacon. The instructions were clear on how to cook it and I used the bacon for my chicken salad so it had the information on how to cook crispy. I liked the smokiness of the bacon and it combined well with my meal. I’m not sure if I would eat it to replace pork for our morning breakfast especially since it took me a few stores to find it but it’s something I would considered for future meal ideas.

Lean Bacon

‘Butterball's Applewood smoked turkey bacon is a tasty yet healthier alternative to traditional pork bacon. It is gluten-free! It is easy to cook. I cooked mine in a frying pan. and achieved perfect crispiness. The Applewood smoked flavour adds a delicious taste, making it a family favourite. My family loves it on barbecued burgers. It is also great with eggs.

Better than bacon!

Whenever I go to a restaurant for breakfast I always opt for turkey bacon so I was ecstatic when I received the opportunity to try Butterball turkey bacon original flavor. I highly recommend this if you are looking for a gluten-free, pork free, less fat, meat option. There is 3g protein/slice. The smell and flavor is delicious. My family is happy!

Can't believe it's not bacon

If you are looking for a good substitute for bacon loom no further .. this has great taste .. well it may not get super crisp like regular bacon .. you can easily make the switch!

For brunch

Turkey bacon is less crispy and slightly chewier compared to pork bacon. However, it didn't mind the different texture of this. Loved the smoked Applewood flavour. Cook it longer and it does get a little crispy!

Healthy Alternative!

Butterball Applewood Smoked Turkey Bacon is delicious. With a smokey and savory flavor, it's the perfect addition to your morning breakfast or a lunchtime sandwich. Made from 100% turkey meat, it has 85% less fat than your regular pork bacon. It's a little dry in comparison, but I'd still rather eat this for its health benefits. I'll definitely be repurchasing!
