Healthier alternative to pork

This was our first time trying Butterball Applewood Smoked Turkey Bacon and the whole family really like it. As a mom, I like the fact that it's a great quick meal option, but also a healthier option overall. I will definitely be purchasing this in the future and using it in different meal combinations.

Healthier choice

You get a lot more strips with turkey bacon. I don't think it's a bacon replacement but a product all its own. You can make it crispy and I find it has more of a ham than bacon taste. It was great for eggs Benny and would be nice in a sandwich. It is nice for breakfast for a healthier option and you aren't getting any fatty pieces. This was easier to cook than peameal bacon so it so great for a simpler eggs Benny recipe and it didn't taste really that different. Cooking it in the oven I found the best like I do with bacon. This allowed it to be less time consuming than cooking in a pan. With more stripes you can really get 2 uses out of a package so it's not that badly priced. I do recommend this but suggest to use it in a recipe as it is its own product.

Healthier bacon

I have been off eating pork for years but from time to time I do crave a good old BLT, this turkey bacon get nice and crispy and the apple wood smokey flavour is great for BLT’s. Im not a huge fan of turkey but I would purchase every once in awhile when im craving a BLT!

Breakfast essential

Turkey bacon was an excellent additional to this breakfast bake. It was also delicious on breakfast wraps as well. I love that it’s a healthier option when it comes to bacon. I will say I wish it got crispier but other than that I recommend.

Tasty, but more like ham than bacon

We tried the turkey bacon this morning for breakfast. It was a delicious addition providing tasty bacon-like but healthier option. Cook time took almost the same, the crunch was there. I would probably try the less sodium option as well.

I liked it for a once in a while treat but wouldn’t have it every day since it’s so high in sodium as is regular bacon. It is better if you’re watching your saturated and trans fat since it’s only 2% per slice

Good alternative!

Butterball turkey bacon in applewood smoked flavor is flavourful and makes for a decent alternative. The texture is more chewy, it didn’t result in crispy bacon as the cut is bigger and there’s less fat. We had it as sides for breakfast and also on burgers.

Flavourful Turkey Bacon for Breakfast

The Turkey Bacon tasted very good with the applewood smoked flavour. I’m usually not very interested in regular pork bacon because of the fat, but this turkey bacon is made from 100% turkey meat and is 85% less fat than regular pork bacon. It’s easy to cook this for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. For ease and convenience, I tried to bake the turkey bacon using a conventional oven, but it didn’t turn out as crispy as I expected. It was full of flavour, but the texture was similar to jerky. It can be eaten as a snack on the go.

Great alternative for those who don't eat Pork!!

I was given the opportunity to try this out. We baked the turkey bacon in the oven, and it turned out perfect. Nice and crispy, and it had a wonderful smoked flavor. A good substitute

I cooked it to the specs on the packaging. Pieces are large and keep shape well. I hadnt tried the Applewood smoked turkey bacon before. I found it a bit salty and not quite smokey enough but was an okay substitute for real bacon, I would probably chop it up next time and put it in my omelette instead of leaving it whole.
