We were fortunate to receive a free DQ cake to review during a family gathering. What a delicious task! We selected a Skor Blizzard Cake (without personalization, so we could do our own) which is my spouse`s favourite. It was absolutely delicious and enjoyed by all at a recent family celebration.

While the price is higher than we are accustom to spending on desserts, it was so delicious that it was definitely deserving of a premium price over a standard cake. It`s sweetness means that a small slice is incredibly satisfying for those looking to add value into the premium price. That being said, the cake is taller than I expected which added value above what I anticipated.

It would be great if the lid were shorter, as there is a great deal of space between the cake and the lid which made it harder to fit in our more unconventional freezer (done in smaller drawers vs. a more traditional open concept. If someone had an apartment size freezer, they might struggle to find space without removing other frozen goods so best to plan ahead and minimize the extra contents before picking up the cake.

The decorations were better in-person than the online pictures displayed, so kudos to the cake decorator at our location. We much preferred the more refined decorating style vs. the over-iced (old fashioned) style online.

The online ordering process was incredibly simple, though we were disappointed that not all blizzard flavours were available. We were originally aiming for Reese peanut butter cups but it was not an option, but it was truly delicious - so despite the original disappointment, it left me asking Reese who?! ;)

Noteworthy was the wonderful staff member at DQ who asked us twice is we wanted personalization and carried the cake out to the car for us, as I had my hands full with a toddler in two. She was keen to ensure we had the best experience - delighting both myself and the toddler with her thoughtful words and actions.

Thank you so much for DQ & Chick Advisor for putting such a delicious and generous review opportunity. Having never had a blizzard cake, I know we will again, extra spending and all which for this more frugally-minded spender says a lot!

Ordering my cake was a breeze! I ended up choosing a Blizzard cake (yum!) and never did find a way to customize it but they offered when I went to pick it up so no issues there! I wish there were more flavours to choose from but you can't go wrong with chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate! Only challenge I had was when entering info online, I checked off a 10:30am pick up but when I got there, the cake wasn't ready. In fact, the girl at the counter informed me that it wasn't supposed to be ready yet - kind of rude. I showed her my email confirmation from DQ (which is a great feature) that showed a 10:30 pick up and she didn't apologize or anything! Another girl was working in the store and her customer service was much better. She mentioned that there was a cake already made in the display, same flavor I was looking for and offered to customize it for me so all worked out well. Cake was delicious as they always are!

Thank you SO MUCH Chick Advisor for the FREE DQ Ice cream cake!!! We celebrated my daughter's 15th birthday with 7 of her closest friends and 3 other family members and still had cake to spare! The taste was amazing, the look was phenomenal! The website was super easy to navigate and personalizing it was awesome as we were able to choose her favourite colours and a design that was perfect for a young woman! I recently have had the pleasure of being picked to review the "DQ Cake website." I would have to say in my opinion that anyone can use the website. The website takes you through step by step, and is simple and painless. If it wasn't for being chosen to do this review, I wouldn't have known the many customizable options of a Dairy Queen cake. I was a little surprised that the ordering time was 2 days, but if one plans/thinks about it in that time (I am normally a last minute person) it is perfect. I would have to say that I would definately use the website again to order a cake. My experience was flawless from the time I ordered it to the time that I picked it up.

I decided to order one for my moms birthday, because she is a huge ice cream lover just like me!
The website visually was very nice, as well as easy to navigate.
I did have to back track because I missed the "customization" link, it didn't stand out very well in my opinion.
The ordering process was very easy and painless.
It would have been nice to see a digital image of what the customizations would look like on the cake,but I kept it basic so I wasn't too worried about how it would look.
There were tons of cake options which is great, I ended up ordering a DQ Blizzard cake, all I can say is YUM!
Loved the cake, and think the online ordering system is great.

I loved the cake. The image and customization that i choose looked great and of course tasted great too. My issues were more with the site. I would have liked to have seen an image of the details i was customizing. Finding the customizing tool bar was also a little difficult. That being said i did really like the end result. I would definitley order another one.

We had our 15th Anniversary just last week and this was the perfect opportunity for us to give the website a try. I ordered a Chocolate Extreme Blizzard cake, large, with orange lettering and orange icing. It looked very Fall-ish, but that's okay. These were our wedding colours anyway. The process to order was very straightforward and pleasant. The shop where we went to get the cake phoned us a day in advance to confirm our icing request just in case. The cake was ready on time and was exactly how I wanted it. We were very satisfied with the whole process and the cake was delish! Everything gets a big thumbs up!

I received my Dairy Queen gift card for $35 in the mail on Monday.I instanty went to DQcakes.com as suggested by ChickAdvisor and entered my City of choice and was taken to there online ordering site.I browsed the different sections and was surprised by the great range of choice of ice cream cakes for any occasion.My store location had three sections to choice from DQ Cakes,DQ Bizzard Cakes and DQ Log Cakes.

I checked through all the choices and decided to order from the DQ Cakes section and get a fun cake in the monster mouth design series.There were three different colors to choice from mauve,green and orange.I chose mine in orange(picture submitted.)I also ordered mine in 10 " which serves twelve to sixteen people.So it would be the perfect kids birthday cake.


The ordering process was very easy and quick to set up.It let me know when my cake would be ready Friday(5 days later)So I would advise if ordering online to give yourself at least a week to order.It also let me choose my pickup time.So I choose 11 am.I then received confirmation instantly through my email with all the information,a picture of my cake,a confirmation number and all details were there.

I went promptly Friday morning at 11 am as indicated.I let the cashier know I was there to pickup my DQ Ice Cream cake I had ordered online.The lady told me all online ordered cakes were waiting in there display case.I checked and mine was not there.She then went to the back and came back and said the lady was still working on it if I didn't mind to wait.I proceeded to pay with my DQ gift card and the cashier said the amount was $27.99.I replied that when I ordered online I was quoted $34.99.

She checked on a list and said that indeed this one cost more so she re-entered the correct amount.I had a quiet morning so waiting was not a issue for me but may have been for someone else.I received my completed cake at 11:35.The lady that had made the cake brought it directly to me and said she was very sorry for the delay that my cake had been previously made and in the display and someone had bought it!

The cake itself looked nothing at all like the cake online.It is obvious the lady was rushed making this cake.The orange icing was not mixed properly and you can see white patches of icing.You can also tell it was hand iced quite unevenly.The online picture the icing looks very uniform as if it was piped in circles with a icing bag.The smile and eyes are completely different as well then what was pictured online.

Since the cake was just made the icing was still very warm and didn't get a chance to set properly on the cake.So when I tried cutting it the messy orange icing went everywhere and stains quite badly on clothes.Then slicing into the rock hard ice cream cake was difficult.The inside however was lovely.Chocolate ice cream on the bottom with a layer of chocolate cookie bits and fudge and Vanilla ice cream on the top.

The orange icing was to sweet for me.But the ice cream layers inside were cool,velvety,creamy,smooth,crunchy,decadent and very delicious .I love the combination of the Chocolate and Vanilla ice cream with the crunchy cookie bits a gooey fudge syrup.Perfect anytime quite a lovely treat.

Although there were mistakes with my online order and the cake was different then pictured. It was still very good quality and great customer service from my local Dairy Queen.

I was surprisingly impressed on how easy it was to create a custom cake and add a picture to it. The price was fantastic and who doesn't like ice cream cake.
the process was very easy from beginning to end. I did receive a phone call as the picture I had originally uploaded did not go through, my store of choice called me and provided me with their email so I can send the picture directly to them. I picked up the cake, it looked fantastic, the picture was clear, and we all know how it tastes... delicious...

I received a Dairy Queen ice cream cake for free as part of the product review club.

It was my son's birthday yesterday and so, we went online prior and browse around for different cake design and options. I found that there's quite a different of choices between different stores. Originally I pick the store that is slightly closer to my home but in terms of cartoon character cakes, choices are very limited. But when my hustand picked the store that is in another direction than the original store that I picked, there are way many more choices in terms of birthday cakes for boys with cartoon characters. Also, for the same cake that available in the original store that I picked, this second store is $3 cheaper. However, all the cakes at the second store will require 3 days in advance to place the order. We ended up picking a Toy Story cake with Woody figurine on it. We picked the 8" one since it's only a small birthday celebration within family.

The next day, the store called us saying that the design that we ordered only available in 10", if we wanted it in 8", it will only be a flat computerized design on top of the cake. So, we ended up paying few bucks extra to make it a 10 inch cake and we also request to pick up the cake a day earlier and they said they would be able to do it.

On the day that we picked up the cake, the transaction was going smoothly. We just simply told them that we were there to pick up the Toy Story cake and it was there already and we simply paid for the cake and then left.

My 2 years old was very happy when he saw the cake. It had a 3D Woody figurine and a Buzzlight Year plastic thing on it. The design was really nice on the cake. After we cut the cake, it was chocolate ice-cream inside and it taste good!

My daughter's birthday is next month and she already told me that she wanted me to order a princess cake for her at DQ!
