So creamy and black! Glides on like a dream and sets well. And the price? Cheapest around!
This is a gorgeous product. It goes on so smooth and so black. It is also absolutely budge free! Forgot to take it off for swim practice, but I was pleasantly surprise afterwards that it still looked as fees as when I first applied it.
Works very well for the price. Make sure to close it tightly to prevent it from drying out!
Okay for the price, you absolutely can't beat it. If I changed the package and did a blind test, I bet most people would choose this one over MAC, E.L.F., maybelline or any other gel eyeliner version.
Too bad it's now limited to the black version at SDM- but that's the only draw back.
As far as application, an angled or flat eyeliner brush is best...and make sure to swipe off the extra so you're not just blobbing it on there. I can use this to tight line and it will last for a few days after I've used it, even after proper skin cleansing. (I.E. perfect for those morning afters... ;) I don't use a black, gel eyeliner everyday because it can look a bit heavy but I have super sensitive eyes and wear contact lenses, and this hasn't been a problem with budging or tearing me up or anything..
I've been storing this upside down as many recommend for products like this and I haven't had any problems with it drying out even after using it for a few months.
Overall- go try it...the worst case scenario is you don't like it and you can return it to SDM for your ~$5.
This is by far my fave budget gel eyeliner.
It is really creamy and applies well with an angled brush (I recommend a better brush than the Essence ones sold alongside it which are too soft for it). Once dry, nothing is moving that eyeliner. I have slept in it and woke up with no smudges.
I would like to see it in more colours
A friend recommended I try this liner and at $4 it wasn't a big risk if I didn't like it. I don't just like it, I love it! It stays put all night and never smudges. I use it over urban decay's primer potion to keep it in place. I have a very hard time getting liners to stay put so this is a really big deal for my lids. I won't go back to the more expensive alternatives.
This eyeliner is truly waterproof, budgeproof, long lasting, pigmented, smearproof and creamy. It is at a really great price, and it has around 3g of product, which is standard for other eyeliners. This honestly lasts so well I have trouble getting it off. The only downside is that there are only two colors for this. I would love to see a brown and a blue.
I bought this to practise with, as I have no experience with liquid or gel liners and want to start using them. This is so inexpensive, and it works really well. I use a small angled e.l.f. brush to apply it with, and as long as I work somewhat quickly it goes on smooth and very opaque - a rich true black that dries pretty matte. If I try to keep going over spots it can start to get flaky, but otherwise it's very easy to use.
I bought this over a month ago and it doesn't seem to be drying out at all yet, and this little pot will probably last me quite a while.
For someone new to liners like this, it works amazingly well and is very long lasting (you definitely need a bit of makeup remover at the end of the day to get it off, and it doesn't flake much if at all during wear). It would be sweet if Essence came out with different colours of this - I would definitely check something like that out! Overall, this is a great deal and I definitely recommend it.
Best gel eyeliner I've tried so far. It's INCREDIBLY creamy, and really does last all day. Haven't actually tested it, but as far as I'm concerned this is pretty waterproof. Therefore, it can be difficult to remove. That's the only flaw. But with a little makeup remover, it's all good. You'll never have to worry about it smudging or running, that's for sure!
Note: I heard this has been discontinued for 2014, but I'm still seeing it in stock at my local Shoppers Drug Mart. Stock up while you can! Definitely don't pass this up.
