Fifty Shades of Grey Reviews
#6 in Books

Description

This book traces the deepening relationship between a college graduate, Anastasia Steele, and a young business magnate, Christian Grey. It is notable for its explicitly erotic scenes featuring elements of sexual practices involving bondage/discipline, dominance/submission, and sadism/masochism.

Of course, I had to read these books because of all hype. There were okay. I found them to be quite repeatitive. I have them all on my bookshelf but I have no desire to pick them up to read them a second time.

I heard so much about Fifty Shades of Grey, and decided to read it. To be honest I am not really into erotica books. I read some of these type of books, and this is very different from what I have read. I disliked Christian's arrogance, and wanting to be in control. He knows many woman swoon from his good looks, being successful, and he took advantage of it. They do what he tells them, and signed a contract. Who signs a contract to be in a relationship with a guy? Even if it's just for sex? How pathetic. Anna even lets Christian spank her, and obeyed him. To me it seemed like abuse, like a controlling guy. Anna was warned he was bad for her. Even her friend didn't trust him. He wasn't into relationships, but still she wanted him. Even though they are two different people, yet Anna couldn't let him go. Was it the attraction? Seems more of low self-esteem and confidence that Anna allow a guy treat her the way he did. They broke up, well I wasn't surprised. How could she fall for him? He only used her body to satisfy his own needs, not her. It also makes me wonder why Christian doesn't like to be touched. Better yet, how Anna believes what they have is actual love. I must say this is the strangest book I ever read. Not only was it badly written, but it was repeated numerous times (which I found annoying). I don't see how great this book it, people make it a bigger deal than it is. It shouldn't be on the best seller's list. I completely understand why people are complaining about this book.

Decent book that allows women to form their own male dominant in order to appeal to all women

Honestly i really tried to get into this book. I felt that the author just repeated everything and it was definitely poorly written. I'm terrible at writing and I felt that I couldnt even stand it reading the book that made absolutely no sense. All it did was outline the sexual part of the relationship over and over again... The movie was also terrible so dont even bother.

Over-hyped because of the cover and the fact Harlequin didn't produce it. The story was grade level not epic, it's love scenes simple and too short for what it was raved about. The dominance of character was minimal and it was a total let down. The whole series dragged on and the ending was weak and left me feeling like I'd wasted my time. But the hype said it was a must read....hmmm who are these people? Clearly they have never picked up a Harlequin Romance Novel, those can get pretty steamy. I swear the only reason this book had the ratings it had was because of marketing and the cover. It was a cover that didn't scream, "I'm reading about sex." Which means when women had time to read (like on a subway) they could and not be looked at weird for carrying it around. I heard the movie was even worse than the books. It's was a let down to read but I applaud the publishing company for their excellent marketing plan.

Meh. Really, really poorly written Twight fan fiction. Had interesting moments but overall, I felt it was a waste of my time reading it. Will not read it again.

i love the story, the love and the bdsm, but could have been written better. The terms and language used was missing from the story, kind of made the story lack romance and a adult language. Kind of felt like you were reading from a teenage girls perspective instead of a grown women. Even though i still love the book series, i read them all and was hooked. Most defiantly better then the movie.

Great Book, Great series, Loved that this book had a sweet love story hidden behind all the bdsm/sex . It could have been written a little better but over all the book PULLED me in and I forever fell in love with Christian Grey
