A great machine but no battery back-up

This sound machine has been my daughter's go to at bedtime. The lights and the sound are just want she needs to be soothed to sleep.

It's a bit pricier in comparison to other sound machines but the ability to connect the machine to your phone and control it through an app is exciting.

I'm a bit disappointed that it doesn't have a battery back up for when the power is out. That alone would make me contemplate whether or not I'd purchase it again in the future.

    Great addition to the nursery

With the lights & sounds it definetly catches my littles attention and helps calm him down. The app on my phone makes changing settings quick & painless as I can change sounds and lights from anywhere in the house. The only thing I would change, is possible a larger selection of sounds/lullabies

The best nursery sound machine and nightlight on the market!

I'm on my second baby and so only had the joy of this relatively new product in recent months. I was looking for a good nightlight and a half decent sound machine for both the baby's nursery and for my scared-of-the-dark 4-year old. This product offers both light and sound and I highly recommend for the following reasons:

It has 3 types of nightlight: a star projected (various coloured lights), a very low orange glow nightlight and a slightly brighter warm glow lamp. The stars are lovely as the baby is falling asleep, and the orange glow is a good one to leave on all night as it's not too bright. The lamp has a delightful print of jungle animals and again, does not burn your eyeballs out in the dead of night.

Easy to use: the whole button panel is backlit, so you can easily find the settings in the dark. The buttons make a quiet but pleasing sound when you press. My 4-year old can put it on and off himself in the middle of the night when he wakes up and is scared.

Sound machine offers music and white noise: it offers about 4-5 different lullaby type songs and 4-5 white noises (waves, fans etc.) with 5 levels of sound (more if you use the app). And the music is not obnoxious like some sound machines you can find on the market.

It's AC powered!: I can't tell you how many of these sound machines/star projectors are battery operated. I went through so many batteries with my first sound machine and separate night light and it's such a waste! The AC power will save the environment, and you money in the long run and is a must.

It also has an app: You can adjust the lights/volume and even add timers from your smart device by downloading the Smart Connect app.

    CONS -
Sound quality: Okay so it may not be a super high-end quality sound machine, but it isn't bad either. It suits my needs and to be honest, don't notice any tininess. The sound level on the actual unit (not through the app controls) does seem to go from very low to high and could do with one extra sound progression. But this can be adjusted in the app if necessary.

It's a little pricey: At $50, it may seem a little pricey, but considering your getting sound and light and AC power, it's worth every penny.

Smart Connect app not amazing: It works well when it does work. It's good to be able to set the lights and sound on timer, but sometimes it doesn't connect on the wifi which can be a pain. I tend not to use the app, only on occasion to set the sound volume.

    _______________

All in all, this as a great product and suits my needs for not just my baby boy, but my 4-year old! We bought a second one for him and it has helped him greatly with his fear of the dark. He already had 3 different nightlights which didn't seem to help, but I think the novelty and the fact he can control how much light he has and music anytime he wants. He hardly ever wakes us up anymore because of this product, which is amazing! Fisher-price should really think about creating a version of this light aimed at toddlers who are scared of the dark! They would make a fortune :) ( I am in marketing and I am a mum, so I know it would ;)
