Thick and non greasy moisturizer but smells bad

I purchased this when I found it on sale. I remember using it on my children and being very happy with it. It does a good job at moisturizing, however, it does have an unpleasant smell despite being fragrance free. It's not a perfumey smell, more like a plasticky smell. I wonder if the smell is coming from the plastic tube that it comes in?? I have transferred the lotion to a jar and hoping that the smell will go away. May add an essential oil to it.

I bought this product as it was recommend by my tattoo artist for my most recent tattoo. Every artist recommends something different and I always listen to them so I end up putting something different on every tattoo I get. Unfortunately I do not like this product. It smells so medicalized, like i'm in a hospital or something. It's very difficult to absorb, and it's greasy. I really don't like it and will not be purchasing this again.

My husband has very dry skin on his ankles and legs. Our Doctor actually recommended this for him to use. Was as effective as the cheapest lotion out there. Certainly did not do a good job at moisturizing his dry skin.
