Feels like an office printer, but great quality

Like the Lexmark Black and white Laser Printer I tried, this colour Laser printer feels better aimed at an office environment than a home one. That’s to say that it’s bulky and difficult to setup, but is a workhorse that will last, can print double-sided in large amounts fast and with reduced power usage, but lacks a ton of fancy features.

The print quality is lovely and because it’s laser, you get a colour page printed super-fast, with bright colours and ink that won’t smudge. It’s designed in such a way that it will be easy access to the whole office and the quality will last time after time, despite heavy use.

However, if you are not tech-savvy, I would avoid this one due to how hard the setup is. I am at a medium level of tech-savviness and still found it kind of annoying. Tech experts will find it easy though. I initially tried to set it up via the phone app, where it appeared to work and was listed on my computer, but wouldn’t print. You should note that the box does not contain the special USB cable needed, so unless you have one of those, wireless setup is your only choice. Since I have a mesh and a router, this was even more complex. The CD contains only lexmark software drivers and the wireless setup is not simple, which is quite unusual these days, so you’re mostly on your own when it comes to that.

Once connected though, it works like a dream. It’s a good basic laser printer and the ability to double-side your print will be essential for some, but I still feel it’s more aimed at an office or home business environment. I do recommend it for those who need it for that, but for home printing there are better options.
