90% OF CHICKS DIG IT
I had this foundation recommended to me by a fellow chick in a forum regarding how to do my makeup for a photography session. And I have to say I was VERY happy with the results. First off, I went to Sephora to have a look at this foundation. I was colour matched by a consultant and asked for a sample to take home to play around with my look, see if I would like to purchase ( it is on the expensive side and I wanted to be sure of the quality and suitability to me before I bought), etc. Since I don't wear foundation often, I STILL have the sample. A little goes a long long way with this stuff. It goes on smoothly, just like it's apart of your skin. It provided a great light-medium coverage, perfect canvas, and even kept my makeup in place all day.
This foundation photographs AMAZINGLY! Skin looks flawless. It is quite expensive as I said, averaging about $45-48 per tube. But it does last a long time and is certainly worth the money. I still have my sample but would purchase this in a heart beat to use for special occasions or even spot treatment when necessary. Definitely, without a question, most certainly recommend!
I tried this MU4E foundation however there I found that most of the colors had a slight orange tint. This is INCREDIBLY heavy and looks rather cakey, even when applied very lightly. I can appreciate that this may be great for HD tv and for use under bright lights with cameras, however it is far too heavy for real life and makes the wearer look like they are wearing makeup.
Not a fan. It is decent but for the price, it is DEFINITELY not worth it.
This is comes with a hefty price tag, but if you think about it, it's actually very competitive with others of it's kind, e.g. Dior, Lancome, MAC, etc. It's pricey, but so are the others in it's class range.
This gives medium to build-able full coverage. I don't find it to be cakey at all. In fact it evens out the face without feeling like a lot of makeup. It's very photo friendly, no white flashed face, no sparkly bits. Just beautiful, flawless, natural looking skin.
I put it on at 7am this morning and came to work. I just went and checked, and my face still looks as fresh as ever. I even went for an hour power walk outside during lunch (had to run/walk to keep up with my long legged coworkers! Damn boys don't know how to walk slow), and it kept. I didn't use a lot either. About half a pump for my entire face did the trick. One thing I found with this foundation was it's very build-able, so on days you need a bit more coverage, you can pack a bit more on without looking cakey. This is not so for other high end foundations. For eg. I used to a be a huge MAC fan until I compared their foundation with other companies and realized that theirs are really bad quality for a 'high quality / high price' foundation! Too thick and goes on cakey. Unless your face is perfectly exfoliated, moisturized and the moisturizer has dried, you will look cakey with a MAC foundation (at least that's the case for me). I own Mac Studio Fix fluid, Mac Studio Sculpt, Mac studio tech, Mac studio fix powder and Mac mineralized skinfinish.
Mac Studio fix fluid, Studio Sculpt and Studio tech all are exactly what I said; you need to be well exfoliated and moisturized for it to look good. Otherwise you get the pore-ish, cakey foundation look. Studio fix powder is amazing, I gotta say. Mineralized skinfinish looks like you have glitter on your face if you use too much of it. Used sparingly on the cheeks, bridge of nose, etc. gives a good highlight effect. Looks surprisingly good in pictures too.
The Mac foundations (i'm picking on mac since its so popular) and the mufe hd foundation are competitive in pricing, but I'd def' go mufe over mac.
What is so amazing about this foundation?
It feels like you have nothing on your face! It blends well, do not need a lot of product to get the job done, and it has a pump.
It is pricey and you may have to save for it, but it really is worth it. There are many shades to choose from and they do tend to be on the yellow side, but I am sure you will find something that will fit your skin type.
Any cons?
Well, it is not full coverage, but it evens out your skin. If you want full coverage, you may just need concealer.
Why should you pay for this foundation?
Because it gives the most flawless, yet natural finish. Does not feel greasy, no shine, and cannot feel it on your face. Go get it girl!
It does work well but it broke me out!!!! I have never had a problem with acne but a week after using this OMG I looked like a horror film. It took me about 4 months to recover after using this foundation. My fiance joked and said it was made by proactive as a scam lol. I will never buy this again. Thank god Sephora refunds!
Use this after you have used the lift concealer, face and body foundation, and you'll be glowing like an academy award winner! Goodness this stuff is just perfect, literally! Ya its a bit pricy, but who cares? lol
I finally gave in and got this foundation! It's a very good product! Medium coverage, natural finish, glowy, dewy, not cakey at all, very buildable. It lasts very well, great colour range.
I'm very very happy with it. I am used to heavy duty coverage, but this year I've switched over to mineral... sick of they cakey feel. For the wnter time, however, I found my mineral powders too drying, they simply didn't work at all, so I felt I need to go back to liquid. I gave this one a try as I was looking for slight coverage, something to even out my skin tone, something that would last very well and that would look natural and give me that natural dewy finish.... and this foundation did just that! I get complimenta on my skin every day.
After trying countless foundations ranging from low to high end, this foundation has got to be one of my favorites. The pigment packed, super thin consistency provides the perfect coverage without the full coverage feeling... and a little bit of product goes a long way! The finish is very satin, which is perfect for normal to dry skin, i would definitely suggest pairing this with a power for oilier girls.
It sounds a little funny when I tell people I'm wearing HD makeup but there really is a distinction, especially when making yourself camera ready.
I personally have oily skin so I always try to look for a product that is oil-free such as Make Up Forever's HD foundation. The coverage is quite on the heavy side but not something that makes your face look to "cakey" or even feel that way. What I do recommend to get a flawless finish using this foundation is using the right brush and the one I stand by is the MAC 187 (which I will review in another segment). The brush when applying the HD foundation in a buffing motion will ensure total coverage that is almost invisible to the camera that you can ensure maximum coverage.
Even if your not planning on being in front of a camera (ie: at a party) I would 100% recommend this foundation for everyday usage especially if you have skin that is multi-toned and you want that even and flawless look.
Make Up Forever's HD Foundation is pricey but a bottle does last me three months and I use two pumps a day (I use it almost 6 times a week) which gives me at least 12 hours of coverage.
Ladies & Gents if you want good foundation, look no further.

I've been through so many cover ups and just when I thought i found the closest I'd get to perfect (Nars), My best friend told me to try Make up forever high definition foundation. So after months of her telling me, I finally try it and am IN LOVE with it! I'll probably stick with this foundation forever, that's how much I love it. You can apply a light coat, or layer it for full coverage.
