    I really like that there are now products coming out for early wrinkles - I am too old for young skin products and too young for the heavy anti-wrinkle regimens that I see on the market. So, I was happy to try this new line from Marcelle.
    The woman on the box looks like an alien. Her skin is so taught and perfect, she must be French....The jar feels nice and heavy, it's the glass bottom that gives it the weight.

    My experience with the cream was not great. It is a nice consistency but a wee bit too thick, especially for a day cream - maybe appropriate for night but not day. I have sensitive skin that can also be oily at times in the tzone and dry on the cheeks but also getting early wrinkles. Because i'm sensitive, i react to some products with a rash unfortunately, so I'm extra cautious with products that have SPF. This has an spf of 15, which i love the idea of but others are doing it better than marcelle is in this product.
    Back to the product: It smells like a sun screen, which i disliked immediately. It also leaves a sticky filmy residue, which screams sunscreen to me. Sadly, i will not be using this on my face again. The spf is not high enough to use it as an outdoor/weekend facial sunscreen product and it's too icky-sunscreeny to use during the week for work under makeup on my face. I will however make use of it by applying it to the backs of my hands as a sunscreen (but I'll immediately wash the palms of my hands because the sticky feeling it leaves behind is yuck).
    I am unclear as to what the anti-wrinkle properties are in this cream. From what i could tell, it was just the SPF that is the anti-aging quality.

    Two others that are good to try if you're looking for spf in a face cream for the mid-30s group: Clarins Multicorrect day lotion with SPF (Comes in a pump, from the US, not yet available in Canada) and for lower price point, Neutrogena has a 25spf that is good - Ageless Essentials continuous hydration lotion. Really good. I don't break out, good under makeup and no suntan lotion smell.

    I was excited to try this out, as I haven't used much Marcelle stuff. This is a pretty light feeling, non-greasy daily moisturizer with SPF. I don't normally wear sunscreen on it's own, but have it in my face creams and tend to put that everywhere else too, or just buy a sunscreen primarily for face as that is my my concern, unless I am at the beach or something and need it all over. This cream will not make your wrinkles disappear, but over time it can improve the appearance of "first wrinkles" so it's good for girls in their late 20's and 30's. I enjoyed trying this out and will continue to see it to observe if there are any changes to the fine lines around my eyes.

    Having tried the Marcelle Essentials 1st Wrinkles SPF 15 day cream for about two weeks now, I have not seen a noticeable difference in the amount or depth of wrinkles between day 1 and day 15. I can, however, appreciate the fact that this had the SPF 15 factor which is vital in a day cream. I found the formula to be a bit too thick for use in the summertime as it forced me to tote along some oil-blotting papers. I loved the light scent of the cream as it helped to remind me that there was sunscreen in the formula. I am putting it back in the cupboard for the summer and giving it another go for the winter to see if it will help my complexion then.

    My first impression of this cream was...I thought this cream was a little too thick but I am also thinking it is due to the fact that I currently use a very light weight moisturizer. There was so scent the product, which is very nice. I find creams that smell "perfumy" always end up irritating my skin.
    One thing that I really liked was that it had SPF... my current moisturizer does not, so I should really be shopping around for a new cream. As for effectiveness, I did use it in the mornings, for 2 weeks, however.. I didn't really have any wrinkles in the beginning, so I am finding it difficult to see if I notice any differences.
    I would recommend to someone in their early 30s rather than late 20s.

    Thanks to the Product Review Club for allowing me the chance to try this product. I was excited to try this moisturizer as I have used Marcelle products in the past and have found them to have good effective products for a reasonable price. However, I was quite disappointed with this moisturizer.

    Although the packaging was quite pretty, I did not enjoy using a jar. It means either dipping your finger/hand in the product which becomes very unsanitary or using a little spatula everytime you want to use the moisturizer which can become quite a hassle. I guess you could also transfer the moisturizer to a dispenser but it may be difficult considering how thick the product is.

    I though the moisturizer itself was okay. It is pretty much unscented except for the slight slight smell of sunscreen which did not bother me. I would have really liked it if it had at least an SPF level of 30. The one thing that I really enjoyed about the product was how light and creamy the product was in terms of texture. I didn't find the moisturizer to be quite so effective though. I have really dry skin and when I put on just enough to cover my face, my face still feels tight and dry. When I put it on more liberally, my skin feels fine and moisturized but I my skin looks very greasy. For this reason and the low SPF level, I have mainly been using this at night.

    Overall, I thought the product was okay and may work for someone else. It did not work for me however and I will not be purchasing it when I run out. I prefer a day moisturizer for dry skin that comes in some sort of dispenser (tube or pump) with a high SPF level.

    I received a full size jar of Marcelle Essentials 1st Wrinkles Day Cream SPF 15 to sample for the Product Review Panel.

    I noticed before I opened the jar, it was leaking out and had dried and become all "jelly" like around the lip of the jar...not a good first impression.
    I opened the jar and smelled the cream like I always do with new products. It claims to be odor free but I did not like the smell it had. It reminded me of sunscreen (I guess that's what you get when you make an odorless SPF 15 scream lol).
    The texture was great however. I love how it feels so light and blends effortlessly into my skin. I wear it under my makeup and can't tell I have it on. I'm not sure that it will smooth out my wrinkles as I don't have a lot to be smoothed out (yet) but I am sure that if I continue to use the product, i will notice a difference in the way my skin looks and feels.

    Overall rating:
    Smell = 2/5 stars
    texture = 5/5 stars
    packaging = 3/5 stars
    effectiveness = 3.5/5 stars

    I would recommend this product to people who have sensitive skin or do not want a cream with a heavy odor or texture. If you don't have sensitive skin, I am sure you'd be able to find another day cream on the market over this one.

    Thanks ChickAdvisor for the product review! I've been using this cream for the past couple of weeks and feel that it's average. The jar holds a lot of cream - so it's good value for the money. It's nice that it's unscented because you don't feel like you're putting chemicals on your face. I found the texture of the cream to be smooth, but once applied to my face it almost had an oily texture. I don't think this is bad because I found it to be ideal for applying make-up on top of. But if you didn't add some powder your face might be too shinny.

    On the flip side, I'm not sure how well it moisturizers my skin. At first it seems good, but doesn't leave me with that overly hydrated look. It's only a day cream so it would be nice if it was also intended for the evening so my bathroom wasn't filled with numerous jars of creams. As for it being an anti-wrinkle...I'm not thinking it will stack up against other creams in that department.

    Overall, average product but I don't see myself running out and buying another jar.

    Despite me saying in my last review I probably wouldn't buy it again...well I did :) But I came to find out they've changed the product and it's not the same quality level anymore. I couldn't find the version in the grey jar only ones with a similar label in a white jar. It caused a very bad breakout on my skin so much so I needed a facial and then had to use expensive products to get my skin under control again. The new formula really moisturizes well but the clogged pores & breakouts I can't live with. Seriously, this time I'm really never buying the product again. It's really turned me off Marcelle products in general now.
