I think this foundation really deliver what it promises. An air-whipped light textured foundation that doesn't sink into pores, instead, it glides over pores and creates a nice finish. When i first tried this, i put this on one side of face with my Make up forever HD on the other. This felt a lot lighter than the MUFE HD foundation. I really liked this because i hate the liquidy foundationy feeling with liquid foundations. I think this foundation would be great for those who need light to medium coverage. The coverage first applies on light but is definitely build-able without looking too cakey. I'm just not sure if i'll use this all the time since it does take a bit of effort for a higher coverage. I will try applying this foundation using different methods (fingers, stippling brush, sponge etc) to see which is a better method. I didn't have any reaction or allergies to this, which is good. So far, i like the lightweight feeling and the foundation's ability to minimize the look of pores.
all i have to say is WOW! i never wear foundation because i dont like how heavy it is and my skin cant breath but this foundation is great it is light you can hardly tell you have some on! i love the botle it is nice and small i highly recomend it
I finally received the foundation today. I went to Shoppers Drug Mart to try to choose the right shade for my complexion. I used to buy foundation from MAC. Then I switched to YSL. I had a hard time choosing a shade. I don't think cosmetics companies make the right shades for black women. There were two shades I could choose from. One was too light and the other was too dark. They did not have testers, so I could not try them on. I chose the darker shade. When it arrived today I immediately put it on my face. I liked the bottle and the foundation gave my face a nice finish, however it was too dark. I tried on my YSL foundation to see which one I preferred. I also asked someone if they could tell the difference. They preferred my YSL finish. They said it had a natural finish. I believe that if I could find the Maybelline foundation for my skin colour, I would definitely purchase it. Also, the foundation did not feel heavy at all.
I was certainly in the market for a new foundation, and Maybelline New York Dream Liquid Mousse came along at just the right time. I honestly wasn't loyal to any one foundation prior to this. I have very dry skin and have always found foundation to exacerbate this. I need something to go on smooth and STAY smooth - not end up making me look like a flaky mess within in an hour or two. This is what I normally deal with when using foundation, and I've never had much more luck than that. But I am optimistic, and don't mind trying new products/solutions. I had a half cynical, half hopeful mind when I tried the Dream Liquid Mousse, and I think I've explained why that is.
When I applied the product, I thought to myself, "wow, it is going on smooth.. smoother than what I was using before." But, my cynical side, brought on by past experience, told me, "just wait.. it will probably just stay smooth like that for 20 minutes or so".
So then, I tested it. My way.
I went out on a bike ride. Wind hitting my newly Maybelline'd face.
And now here I am - having to tell you - honestly - --NOT BAD! I've never been able to even step outside with foundation on without it turning my face into a blotchy flake fest.
Not only did I not turn into my old flake face self, I had completely blended and natural looking coverage.
I am not trained in make-up application, and I dare say that the average gal isn't either. But I found this product very easy to blend, and it didn't give me that dreadful "I'm wearing foundation" face. (Or- worse yet: the tell-tale chin line mask.. yuckies).
The Dream Liquid Mousse concealed imperfections and provided a perfect base for applying the rest of my make-up. It gave me a good canvas for the rest of my night - and when I apply it tomorrow, it will provide a long lasting canvas for my day.
Dream Liquid Mousse is a water-based foundation, which is good for all skin types. Before this, I was going with the fact that I had read that cream-based foundations are good for dry skin types. The cream-based foundations i had tried would go on creamy but then just seem to dry my skin out.
Working part-time and being a full-time student makes me a busy gal and I have a long days. I need something that I can apply in morning and not worry about it during the day - because I frankly don't have the time!
I'm surprised to actually say this, because I have raved about MAC Studio Fix foundation before... but I think Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation might just be the perfect foundation for me. I absolutely loved MACs foundation, but I recently realized some problems with it. The foundation seems to be a little too dark for my skin, even though I purchased the lightest shade, so it will sometimes leave a bit of an orange streak.
Now to talk about Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation. At first I wasn't convinced this would give me an airbrushed look. I generally prefer a heavy foundation, and this one went on a bit light. But after a few more squeezes on to my sponge, I was able to get a nice medium coverage that I was satisfied with. It is easy to get the coverage you want without it looking caked on. It goes on very smoothly, unlike some other foundations. And get this, the Porcelain Ivory was PERFECT for my skin. It matches my exact skin tone, which is surprisingly hard for a pale girl like me to find. Foundations are always too orangey (like MAC) or in the case of L'Oreal, chalky white!
I was extremely happy with the result.
This foundation mostly covered the appearance of my pores, though as with any foundation, it is hard to really cover all of them. This doesn't really bother me at all. I paired this with my MAC concealer and powder, and it looked absolutely flawless.
Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation comes with a pump in the bottle. My other foundation doesn't have that, and I hate dipping a brush into it to get at the product. It took a little while to get this pump to work though. I had a bit of trouble getting any product to actually come out of the bottle the first time, it took about 10 squeezes. After that, it was fine. I love how it has a lock, you twist it one way to get the product out, twist it back to lock it so no product leaks out by accident. This is very smart of them to do, and it makes me like the product even more.
I have used other foundations which I could feel it on my face throughout the day. This foundation makes me forget I'm even wearing it. It feels very light. The foundation lasted most of the day, I need a little touch up right now (6 pm), but I usually expect that with makeup.
So with that, I think I'm going to ditch my $30 MAC foundation, and go for Maybelline Dream Mousse foundation instead. It's a little less than half the price, and it matches my skin way better.
Oh, and it's completely natural looking of course!! :)
Thank you, ChickAdvisor for this product. ;)
I finally got mine today and wanted to try it out asap.
I havent worn a liquid foundation in a long long long time, I prefer to use the powder foundations, as the liquid ones always make me feel greasy and like my face is going to slide right off..lol
however, I was really impressed with the Maybelline Liquid Dream Mousse, I didnt need to use alot to get coverage, and it went on light and doesnt make me feel greasy at all!
I will definitely spend the extra to buy this when my current one runs out!
I LOVE IT!
I really put this foundation to the test - at the gym, and then another time with a 12-hour day.
It went on quite light - a little went a long way for coverage. It went on smoothly, I did not need to use a sponge - just the tips of my fingers. I was impressed that it did not crease on my nose or near my eyes, like some foundations do. And it lasted all day - no need to touch up with a compact!
I decided to go to the gym at the last moment - so I left my makeup intact. It did not come off noticeably when breaking a sweat, and because it blended so well with my skin, I did not notice a dramatic change.
I would recommend this as an everyday foundation - I'm not the biggest fan of a matte face - so add some shine and glow with blush and whatnot. An excellent base!
I have been searching for a comparable replacement for my fav (but too expensive) foundation, Giorgio Armani Luminous. I want nice, buildable, coverage with a somewhat dewy finish. I need good colour selection and nothing that will cause me to break out or settle into fine lines. I received a coupon from Shoppers Drug Mart for $4 off plus samples of all of the colours offered which was PERFECT. I really like to test drive a foundation before purchasing. This foundation, although not 100% perfect is pretty darn good, especially considering it's $15 vs the $70 I normally spend. I would definitely recommend this product and will continue to buy.
This has to be the best foundation I have used in a long time. It acctually does what it promisses.
