I have tried a lot of oils, bu this was my first experience with Avocado butter. I wish I had discovered this before now because I like it so much better than any of the Shea products I've tried. This absorbs better than Shea (and most other oils). It feels really good on my skin (especially my feet and elbows), but I'm most impressed with how well if does on my scalp. I can use it directly on my hair if I go sparingly and do so while my hair is damp from a wash. I think the reason it does a good job as a scalp moisturizer is because of the absorption factor. I don't recommend it as a leave-in moisturizer for ladies with fine or Caucasian type hair, but I think it might be really good as a hot-oil treatment and for the very ends of the hair. For African American type hair (I am 4b/4C), this is nice (in moderation) because it doesn't tend to sit on top of the hair. I use very lightly on my damp hair for twisting. Where this also works super is as a facial cleanser. I apply & massage into my face & neck, then wipe clean with cotton baby wipes. Other ways that I have used it & find it works well: on my feet - pre & post manicure; on my hands, esp. cuticles, by wrapping in a warm towel or latex gloves for about 10-15 minutes, then rubbing off the excess oil; as a lip balm and dry skin treatment overnight. I did use this as a pre-shampoo treatment too. I warmed some of the oil in a baggie and applied to my hair and rested it under a warm damp towel before shampooing with a very mild shampoo. I did also use this with my body wash by smearing some of the butter on a towel before applying soap. I ended up wasting product that way & learned that it's better to just wash with soap/body wash then apply the butter with a wet towel at the end of the shower. Leaves my skin feeling pretty luscious.

I balk just a little at the price but, really, it's worth it because a small amount goes a long way. That's my standard with something that is pricey: how far I can stretch out the product.
I notice that this product is currently unavailable on Amazon. I might order up a stash of it next time so that I don't have to worry about it being out.
