I have struggled with breakouts on my skin for years, I have tried home remedies, creams and expensive high end treatments, all have failed. I recently purchased the Neutrogena Clear Body Wash and within just a few washes I've seen a noticeable difference in my skin! It's not only clean, smells great, there is no residue left behind. Amazing!!!
I used this product as a teenager with little results, but using it years later, in combination with birth control (for hormonal body acne) it is helping my skin. The salicylic acid is a good acne fighting ingredient and works better if you are able to leave it on your skin for a few minutes rather than washing it off right away. It also helps reduce red spots that can be left after your acne clears. A lot of people complain about the smell, it definitely doesn't smell like a regular body wash but I don't mind it all. My skin feels soft and smooth after I use it and it doesn't dry out my skin any more than any other body wash would. I have been using this for about 2 months now and will continue.
I used this product for acne on my chest, neck and back. First, this product smells awful! You can't escape it as it spreads through the shower. I also found that this product dried out my skin and I don't think it did anything to heal/prevent new acne. Don't recommend! Does anyone know a better product to use as a body wash?
As an avid gym-goer this is a must have in my gym bag. I use it on my chest/shoulders/back and any small bumps that appear vanish after a few uses. Using this regularly seems to keep any unsightly body acne at bay. I don't find that it dries out my skin as I use a moisturizer immediately afterwards. The smell isn't that fantastic but what do you expect for an acne body wash.
I tried this product a few years ago and I completely agree with the previous reviewers. It does nothing for body acne and it made my skin dry out, not to mention the bad smell.
I'm going to agree with the other raters. I got nothing from this except drier skin. I tried neutrogena when I was younger (face wash,) and didn't like how it made my skin feel plus I also disliked the smell. I decided I would try this body wash thinking that my young teen reaction was probably wrong or that at least my skin was different now and this might work well for me. WRONG. Same feelings now as then.
This product is AWFUL! I had very slight little acne bumps on my chest and being very frustrated with it, I decided to get an acne body wash. This was literally the only one I could find, so I decided to try it out. I have been using it for weeks now and have seen very little improvement. Not only that, it drys my skin out, so I have switched to a moisturizing body wash for the effects of the harsh winter on my skin.
Not to mention the horrendeous SMELL ... a friend of mine told me that she uses this product, and the smell I am complaining about is the smell of the salicylic acid ... which I would have gotten used to and dealt with if the product had actually worked, but since it did nothing, I gave up on the shower gel completely. The smell actually lingered through my body lotion ... what is that?! I DO NOT reccommend this product to anyone, I honestly feel like using acne face wash on my affected areas would have been a better choice ... that would be a far more expensive alternative, yes but this wash isn't all that cheap (I believe it was 12.99) and for a product that doesn't work, that is 12.99 TOO MUCH.
This summer I had the unfortunate experience of getting my first ever breakout of body acne. I broke out all over my back. I am 25 and had never experienced body acne before. I raced to the drug store and searched for anything to help me. The Neutrogena Body Clear Body Wash seemed to be the right choice for my problem. I took it home and started using it immediately. I used it in the shower every day for 2 weeks. It didn't do squat! I seriously didn't see even the tiniest bit of improvement. Ultimately, I went to see my doc and got a prescription for some antibiotics that did the trick. So perhaps it was the case that my particular problem wasn't responsive to over-the-counter treatments...I'm not sure. But all I can say is that the Neutrogena Body Clear wash did nothing for me.
