Tasty healthy snacks

I received these snacks through Butterly and my family and I snacked on them for a couple of weeks!
I enjoy that they're light, airy, and crispy, just like chips, but they're a much healthier alternative and the chickpeas are even high in protein. I did try mixing it in to my foods like salads and topping some pastas, which added some satisfying flavour and crunch but I much preferred to eat them on their own as a snack. My favorite though was definitely jackfruit because of how crunchy each piece was and I loved the light sweetness to them. Chickpeas were good but by themselves the really dried out my mouth so I always had to have a drink on hand. Overall, I really enjoyed these.

Light as air and crispy crispy crispy!

I tested out Plantropy’s Crispy Chickpeas, jackfruit and corn products and am in love with the crispy texture! I really love that these are vacuum cooked which make them feel lighter in the tongue, but I also don’t feel guilty eating more! I highly recommend trying all the flavours and products Plantropy offers! I was provided this product for free in exchange for an honest review.

Great vegan snack options!

What a fun offering of flavourful, nutritious vegan snacks!
Crispy Chickpeas Sea Salt -- This one stood out to me the least, but it is definitely the most versatile. It is light, not too salty, and would be great as a "crouton" substitute in a salad.
Crispy Chickpeas Tamarind -- My personal favourite! Savoury with a bit of spice, it is the perfect snack on its own.
Crispy Chickpeas Thai Chili -- Spicy, crunchy, and has a real kick to it. Great texture and perect amount of heat!
BBQ Crispy Corn -- Spicier than I expected for a BBQ flavour. Light and airy with a strong, spicy aftertaste that's unexpected.
Crispy Jackfruit -- A bit bland for my liking, but I also imagine this would be very versatile. Sweet and crunchy, it almost feels like you're eating candy!

Pretty Good Healthy Snack

I was looking forward to trying these different snacks from Plantropy. I'm on a wellness journey and I'm a huge snacker so I was excited to try a healthy alternative. I really enjoyed the BBQ crispy corn. It had a great flavour and I loved the crunchiness. I also enjoyed the Thai chilli and Tamarand chickpeas. I didn't really like the crispy Jackfruit. It wasn't the snack for me. I also didn't really like the salted chickpeas. They were a little too plain for my liking. I'm happy to have tried these alternative snack options but I still prefer my less healthy snacks in moderation. With that being said, my kids liked them all!

The perfect snack!

Recently became a gluten free household due to a celiac diagnosis in the family and have been on the hunt for healthy, gluten free TASTY and protein-packed snacks and these snacks hit all the boxes! They are perfectly seasoned, salty, and addictive. Will definitely be repurchasing. Glad I live just down the street from superstore to re-up on these!

Acquired Taste

I received a snack box courtesy of Plantropy and Butterly which consisted of 5 different snacks. I was excited to try this Canadian brand of snack.

Three packs were called "Crispy Chickpeas" which came in the flavors Sea Salt, Thai Chili, and Tamarind. They are gluten-free, soy-free, rich in fibre, and have zero trans fat.

I tried the Sea Salt first which didn't really have much flavor to it. They had a texture that I was not fond of either. I would not purchase these personally.

The next one I tried was the Thai Chili which had a much better flavor, but it still had the same strange texture as the previous one.

The final of the three was Tamarind which I had never heard of before. It had an interesting flavor to it, but still had that same texture as the other two packages that i just couldn't get past.

The last two snacks that I was gifted were the Crispy Jackfruit and the BBQ Crispy Corn.

The Crispy Jackfruit looked similar to a chip. I am not too familiar with Jack Fruit but this snack tasted sweet. It had a nice crispy texture to it which I liked. For someone who enjoys Jackfruit, I think they would like this snack. But again, this was not the snack for me.

The final snack was my favorite. When I poured the BBQ Crispy Corn into my bowl, I wasn't expecting to see literal corn kernels. I'm not actually sure what I expected. I liked the flavor of this snack, although they were a little bit spicier than I was expecting. You could taste the corn, but the BBQ flavor was definitely the main taste. They had a nice light texture that almost melts in your mouth.

Overall, I like what Plantropy is trying to do with making healthy snacks. I do however, feel that they are a bit of an acquired taste and I am not the right client for these products.

If you would like to try Plantropy for yourself, you can find some of their products at your local Superstore. Unfortunately, I could not find a store listed on their website which actually sells the products I tested, here in Edmonton. Perhaps they will be coming soon.

Delicious & nutritious

Great snacks for adults and kids!

What a lot of snacks! My son and I opened these together, I didn’t know how I would like them, but they are all very tasty! My son loves the corn and I love the jackfruit. I think the chickpeas will go great in a salad! It’s great having some healthy snacks around, especially different varieties like these.

Crunchy + fun, but the BBQ seasoning just wasn’t my vibe — the corn itself was so good though!

My fave of the bunch! Sweet, juicy vibes that reminded me of pineapple 🍍✨ Totally addictive.

🧂 Crispy Chickpeas: Sea Salt
Simple, light + crunchy perfection. The kind of snack I could eat a whole bag of without realizing 😅💕

Not my personal fave, but my friends devoured the bag! Tangy + bold if that’s your thing 👏
