Yes these are totally expensive, but worth it. They do mask the cold sore, and keep it from spreading. I wouldn't say it heals quicker, as u change the patch, it tends to tear your cold sore open and have to begin the healing. The biggest yes fo me was that it hides it very well, however not invisible, but you don't have a disgusting open sore that is visible!

Although the ads say that it won't leave a scar, I found I still had a scar after my cold sore was gone - but it disappeared a few months later (just like any other cold sore that I have had). It did like that it didn't wipe off like creams, and it did mostly blend in with my skin tone. I also found that I didn't injure my cold sore as much as if there was just cream or nothing on it.
