Plant's for the win!

I quite enjoyed the Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter PowerBar. I'm really glad I #gotitfree to try because had I seen "Plant Protein" in the store, I probably would have thought it tasted like dirt. Which is quite the opposite. It's just crunchy enough that it's satisfying, and it doesn't leave that gross protein taste in your mouth that a lot of other bars do. I thought the flavor was a little average for peanut butter bars, but still tasted great. Will certainly be looking out for these at the store.

Great for a snack bar!

There are many things about this bar I really liked, such as the fact it’s not over dense or sweet.
I liked all the nuts and seeds in the bar, I like that it had the nature taste( from the nut and seeds)
I loved that the bar only had 11g of protein, makes for a great snack or before workout.
I would have preferred for a more intense peanut butter taste, it was very subtle.
You couldn’t really taste the chocolate all that much, which I guess makes the bar well balanced with flavor!
I would buy it again!

Decent for after workout snack

I tried this after a workout as it has 11g of protein which is decent. It has a subtle peanut butter taste but I tasted seeds more than anything in this one. There is dark chocolate in this one but it was a bit lost with the other ingredients such as the peanut butter and seeds. I don't think I would buy this again only because although it was a bit sweet, I prefer to taste the chocolate in my bars a bit more rather than the seeds.

PB & Chocolate - Yum!

It's hard to fail with PB and chocolate.....the two just go together. This is a great little on-the-run snack. Portable, tasty, crunchy, sweet....but not overly, and at 230 calories, has some staying power. This little bar will keep the wolf out. No artificial sweeteners, vegan, no gluten or soy, and 11 grams of plant-based protein. Packed with nuts and pumpkin seeds for extra crunch and goodness. This is a satisfying little snack. Recommended.

Tasty for a protein bar

I received this protein bar free in a box from Chick Advisor to test out. I've tried a few protein bars from different health food stores, Costco, grocery stores and variety stores. I didn't find that the "protein" taste took over, which was great! It was a like I was eating a granola bar.. with better ingredients! This bar was my favourite since I love peanut butter anything. I'd consider buying it next time.

Plant Protein Vegan Bar = Wow

I was one of the lucky Chick Advisors that was asked to review the New PowerBar Plant protein Bars - this review is for the Peanut Butter and Dark Chocolate. I loved the combination of Dark Chocolate and Peanut Butter, the texture is not heavy like a normal protein bar but nutty. I love that there is no artificial sweeteners and it is vegan and non GMO A little high in fat at 14 gms but a good source of protein at 11g I would buy this again for on the go snack or as a meal replacement with a piece of fruit.

love the peanut butter flavour

I love the taste of real peanut butter and dark chocolate. I like that the bar is chewy as well as crunchy with little bits of peanut. The dark chocolate drizzle looks decadent. I did not find this bar to be too sweet and I could not taste the plant protein in it. Great flavour and texture.

Best tasting bar!

Out of the three flavors I received to test, this was by far the best tasting one. I would definitely but this one again. Perfect blend of flavors. Was a good mid-day fill up.

A good treat for those days you need that afternoon boost

I received two PowerBar Plant Protein Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter bars to assess free of charge from ChickAdvisor. These are different as their protein content is solely from plant-based products (peas, rice). Bottom line – they are really good. I loved the variety of textures and flavours (sweet, salt, chocolate, peanuts ). They, like the other two varieties offered by PowerBar, are gluten- and soy-free. The dark chocolate really helped with the somewhat overly sweet taste. Despite the higher protein content, which can sure help in the afternoons, they are quite high in fat (14 g) so they will be something I'll have as a special treat now and then. But something to definitely look forward to.

A tasty snack

I was able to sample the PowerBar Plant protein bars free of charge thanks to ChickAdvisor. As a vegetarian, I loved the fact the bars are made with plant based protein (pea protein & rice protein ) as I find whey causes belly bloat and it's something I really avoid.

The Peanut Butter dark chocolate flavor was one of my favorites out of the bars I received and would recommend the bar - it's a classic flavor combo that hits the mark! Truly great to enjoy instead of snacking on a candy bar!

Nutritionally, I LOVED that there is 10g of protein in a single bar and 7g of fiber in this particular bar BUT there are some BIG NO'S! to the bar - 10g of sugar is cringe worthy if you are trying to eat very healthy (though it IS BETTER than a chocolate bar but it's still very high) Also, the fat content at 14g is also WAY too high and something I generally avoid in a protein bar.

I did LOVE the bars as a treat but the sugar and fat content would also deter me from enjoying the bar more than a VERY occasional snack/ as a healthier dessert than say a chocolate bar.
