Skyr (pronounced “skeer”), has a thick and creamy smooth texture and lovely, mild flavour. Considered the national yogurt of Iceland, it’s high in protein(21g oer 3/4 cup serving!!), fat-free and lactose-free. Though it is marketed as yogurt it is actually a cheese made from skim milk. If you enjoy Greek yogurt you will love Skyr!! I prefer the plain flavor topped with a little sugar but it is also available in Berry and Vanilla flavors. Top with fruit and nuts or enjoy on its own at breakfast or as an anytime-of-day snack.
