Alright so here i go...i have/ had terrible acne..took my dermo years to help me clear it up so my opinion on this stuff is based on my own experience with my cystic acne.
1) it dried out my skin to a point that it flaked ..literally, when i touched my face it rained like ashes off a fire.
2) my face hurt ..it was sensitive to even those 3 hello kisses you give when you meet someone.
3) when i stopped using it my acne got 5x worse ( this is true to everyone who uses/used proactive because i discussed this side effect with other users)
4) it bleaches your face AND all your towels/ bed sheets (no fun especially since this product doesn't work)

All in all this made my skin much, much worse so if you have cystic acne STAY AWAY and to be honest, i suggest even if its not cystic acne ..find something else!!

I usually dont like writing negative reviews.. but I have to let people know how awful this product is. as soon as my dermatologist found out that I was using proactive- he advised me to stop. this product actually bleaches your skin. BLEACH! its horrible. do not waste your money or harm your skin.

This product did not work for me. Struggling with severe acne for years I figured it was worth a try. I used it and seen no improvement, in fact my sensitive skin seemed to blister slightly when I used it. I would not recommend this product. It is priced too high and doesn't work. Don't waste your money on Proactiv.

I have tried this product and my skin didn't react well at all I have had a few friend who have had the same issues. I found there was no way I could keep up with the daily cleaning my skin was burning and became sensitive and winter use was terrible because my face hurt in the cold like a sensible tooth or something. For me anyway I was dry and red patches just to strong I think if you have very very oily skin and terrible acne then hey this might work but if you have minor breakout this isn't for you

Proactiv Solution Kit;

The problem is it works at first....but once you stop acne comes back...not sure what ingredients are put into this product, but unfortunately seems that it is a non stop use, doesn't cure for good...a temporarily, on going product that must be used!!

I also find it too commericalized, usually that makes it skeptical why...

I saw some friends use with great results, but once stopped....acne came back.....

It doesn't work at all ! super time consuming , BURNS and also dries your skin out ! I've never broke up like this before i started using proactive

worst acne product on the market I have lots of clients that come see me to fix there acne and most of them are either on pro active or just got off!! makes your skin break out and wrecks the epidermis and once you stop it makes your break out more

Takes a lot of time to use, like 30 minutes, and who has that kind of time before bed, it's super expensive, and all it does is dry my skin right out, which leaves dead skin clogging my pores, which causes more breakouts. Just save yourself some time and go buy spectrol or clean and clear.

My parents bought this for me back in the sixth grade when my acne was really bad. The ingredients lists bleaching products (which is why when I bought it they said to make sure it doesn't touch any of your clothing). It dried my skin out horribly and you can find WAY better products with better ingredients in it. It was way too gimmicky.

I used to use proactiv and I am glad I can write a review about it. I used proactive at two different stages in my life...Teenager and Young adult. Skin changes throughout the years so I thought after using it as a teenager and it bleaching all of the towels/washcloths in my house and only making my skin SO dry that I had to stop using it, I'd give it another go around. I thought maybe at least 5-6 years later they would have changed the formula after many "dry" reviews, but that didn't seem to be the case. They did make a moisturizer to come in the kit now, but even so the products died my face out so badly. I even went for a facial at a very reputable salon and they asked what products I used and when I told them proactive they were so shocked and told me to stop immediately! If skin care professionals are advising against the use of proactive, I for one will never use this product again!
