I’ve tried a lot of hot sauces lately, but most are just straight heat. This one is different. It has a vibrant color and beautifully layered flavor which is sweet and slightly tangy from the passion fruit, followed by a slow build of spice. It honestly reminds me of the tropical flavors I grew up loving.I’ve been pairing it with so many dishes lately, and it instantly elevates everything. Just a drizzle adds the perfect touch of sweet heat and completely transforms a meal.

What I love most? It’s Vietnamese-owned and proudly made in Canada. It’s versatile, gluten-free, and full of personality. The Passion Fruit flavor is definitely my favorite — bold, balanced, and unforgettable. This is definitely added to my new elevated pantry staple.

I’ll be honest, I didn't know if passionfruit and teriyaki would go together, but I took the risk with Rude Mama’s Passionfruit Hot Sauce and it was amazing in my chicken teriyaki udon! The first thing that hits you is the tropical acidity. It has the initial sweetness and then the heat creeps up on the back of your throat. It was so good; it actually made the flavours in my dish pop. I couldn’t resist, I had to add a bit extra on top!

Sweet with a Kick

I tried the Rude Mama Passionfruit Hot Sauce on chicken fried rice for my first taste, and I was pleasantly surprised. The flavour starts off slightly sweet and tangy, then the heat builds gently at the end. It’s not overpowering, but it definitely adds a noticeable kick.

Best Tasting Hot Sauce with Tangy Sweet Flavour!

Growing up my parents influenced me to cook food with a hint of spicy kick. This is the most great tasting unique hot sauce I have tried in the market. Most that I usually buy just taste straight up spiciness. Rude Mama Passionfruit Hot Sauce has a vibrant color, flavour with the combination of tomatoes, garlic, red peppers, Thai Chili Pepper, sugar, vinegar, sea salt, canola oil and passion fruit pulp which gives the bright tropical taste that reminds me of the home I grew up with. It’s great being paired on stir fried rice making it flavourful and delicious. We tried it on our cheesy corn recipe and it was a hit!

I have seen Rude Mama also on Dragons Den! It is made in Toronto. Lets support Canadian Local products that is incredibly versatile and gluten free. Thank you Rude Mama for elevating every meal!

Ruthless on your tastebuds!

We went to the new Healthy Planet in Etobicoke which just opened today. It was fully stock of the Rude Mama hot sauce with different flavours (original, mango, pineapple and passionfruit) all for $13.99 which is a great price. We got the Passionfruit flavour, and tried it with eggs and pork chop for brunch. Just need a little bit of it, it’s very spicy yet better than expected. It was not too sweet, just the right amount of passionfruit which blends well with the spice. You get taste a hint of the passionfruit and quite flavourful. We got pizza for dinner and put some of the hot sauce which added a spicy kick to it. We will definitely try it with other foods and cooking with it!
