I received this item to review. I liked this item better than the other non-permanent strip. I figure if you are going to go to all that work it might as well be permanent other wise why bother? I found it fairly easy to used, and would be a way to save a little time and money rather than going to a tailor. Still though if it might be a little tricky, or you aren't sure if you can do a good enough job a tailor might be your best bet.

Scotch Essentials Permanent Hem Bonding Strips is like a dream comes true. My husband always ask me to hem his pants, now it is so easy for me. Now no more staying up late to hem his pants. Just use these strips, and I am done! Love it.

I was thrilled to have the chance to try this product for free.

Overall I like this product. BUT it helps to have a second pair of hands to help hold the pants and keep the fabric from sticking too quickly to the strips (because once they're stuck, they're pretty much stuck unless you don't mind risking the fabric or throwing out the strip and cleaning off all the glue)

    - Nice that you don’t have to iron it on

    - Simple directions but a bit too tiny font; diagrams useless b/c small. If this is the true pack size, suggestion to add a larger instruction sheet with clearer diagrams inside
    - Instructions should indicate how close to each other to place strips
    - Definitely need to keep fingertips and nails quite moist continuously (have a small container or a wet rag nearby)
    - Not easy to pull off backing due to very sticky adhesive, which forms sticky strings that sometimes squeeze out beyond the strip width so be careful. Two improvements would help application: 1) ‘tab’ a bit longer than the strip and 2) if the backings were split as are the temporary strips so you could easily remove half at a time.
    - A MUST: Dampened fingernails help remove backing without sticking; remove backing ½ way and then apply it to the fabric (hold/press into place) before removing the remaining backing.

    - There are four strips on a card; I cut them to give me individual strips which was much easier for application
    - Note: if using several strips minimize the gap between strips since fabric tends to pucker in the gap

    - I tried this in denim (despite the not so attractive unfinished look) but I hesitate to try this on light colored or lighter weight fabrics like dress pants in case the outline shows through a bit or the gooeyness damages the fabric.
    - Not meant for skirts though longer strips would be a nice idea (for heavier fabrics).
    - Might work on some sleeves though I think the fabric should be heavier

Haven’t had a chance to try it through the wash yet but I hope it works.

I got it free and I am glad. I found the permanent hem bonding strips to stick very well. In fact they stuck so well they were hard to work with. You need lots of patience to use these. I ended up with them sticking to my fingers and on some I must not have pressed hard enough as only half the strip released. Leaving me with a clump of tape to deal with. Would I recommend these no. I would use the semi permanent ones till I could sew them or get to a tailor

Love it, super easy to use. Bye Bye Stapler to hem my pants.
Yes I know that is bad. Definitely save you time and money from going to a seamstress.
Super easy to apply. Have to see how long it holds up after multiple washes.

The permanent hem bonding strips are a simple idea, yet innovative because of how effective they are. It is a very straight-forward product to use with good end results. Similarly to my review of the temporary hem strips, I do recommend having a second person around to help measure & mark the desired finished length so it ends up exactly where you want. I haven't had a chance yet to see how well it holds up after washing, but if it truly does last through multiple cold cycles, I think this is a great solution at a fair price. Even though I'm sure it's a very inexpensive product for the manufacturer to make, when you compare it to the cost of taking clothing to a seamstress to hem, you can get a lot of pants & skirts done for the price of 1 professional hemming. That being said, I wouldn't suggest using these bonding strips on jeans or pants with a cuff because it changes the appearance to what I consider to look unfinished.

I love this product. I will probably never have to go to a tailor to have my pants hemmed again. There are 30 strips for 7.99 which is an amazing deal. I found the instructions easy to follow and took little time to do. The only downfall is that you have to wash in cold water(understandable) but inconvenient. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who doesn't want to pay a hefty bill every time they need pants hemmed.

The best thing about this product - NO SEWING REQUIRED! This literally made my life so much easier. I recently got a new office job and found a pair of perfect dress pants that looked lovely except were a bit too long so this product really came at the perfect time. I used the bonding strips to "hem" the pants and so far its been great. I couldn't believe at first how great of a job they did at sticking to the fabric and really staying. I have checked on the "hems" a couple of times and there is no sign of them coming apart or anything. Super happy with my results!

I received this product from ChickAdvisor for free in exchange for my honest review.

The product featured was provided from Chick Advisor for review.

Scotch Essentials Permanent Hem Bonding Strips package come with 30 adhesive strips to work with. For those who need a quick, no sewing or ironing product , to inexpensively hem their clothing this is a great choice.

I had a pair of dress pants to hem and after following the instructions on the back of the package, I was able to do a quick alteration which took me under ten minutes to do.

My only concern is, how may washes before the adhesive starts breaking down. It does state to wash in cold water and use a low temperature dry cycle, which may help prolong the products effectiveness. Only time will tell.
