Father’s Day Fun the Old Fashioned Way

I surprised my dad with an early Father’s Day present, a @spiritswithsmoke Cocktail Smoking Kit with their Signature Five Aromatic Woods. Our family had a lot of fun making the Pineapple Jalapeno Margaritas from the Recipe and Instruction Booklet provided, which features 6 other smoked cocktail recipes as well . The kit came in a beautiful laser engraved wooden box. The box contains Cherry, Hickory, Maple, Oak, and Walnut Smoking Bricks, along with a variety of cocktail making tools, to craft the most amazing smoked cocktails at home. This Spirits with Smoke Cocktail Smoking Kit includes organic boutique Quebec Maple Syrup, hand-crafted aromatic bitters by Token in ‘Ritchie Cherry’ and ‘Aromatic Orange,’ 2 sphere ice molds, a hand-turned wooden muddler, a copper teardrop bar spoon, 3 dehydrated orange rounds, and 3 restaurant quality coasters.

For the Pineapple Jalapeno Margarita, we used the @spiritswithsmoke Recipe and Instruction Booklet to concoct the Pineapple Jalapeno Syrup first. We combined 1 cup of pineapple juice, 1 cup of packed white sugar, 1 cup of water, 2 tbsp of packed brown sugar, 2 jalapenos sliced and seeded, and 2 cinnamon sticks, in a medium saucepan. We turned the heat to medium-high until simmering, then reducing the heat, simmering for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Once slightly thickened, we removed the liquid from the heat, let it cool, then strained it into an airtight container. When refrigerated, the syrup can last up to two weeks.

Time to make our cocktail! We smoked our glasses using the Oak Smoking Brick, for a medium vanilla, nutty smoke. We combined 1.5 oz of tequila, 1.5 oz of Cointreau, 1 oz of fresh lime juice, and 1 oz of our freshly crafted Pineapple Jalapeno Syrup, into a boston shaker, per cocktail. We added ice to the shaker and shook it until the shaker was frosted. We salted the rims of our Oak smoked glasses, and then strained our cocktails into them. We added a sphere icecube in each glass, and garnished each glass with a dehydrated orange round and some lime wedges.
Ta Da! It was delicious to say the least, and we can’t wait to try out the other smoked cocktail recipes included. We are looking forward to making Smoked Old Fashions on Father’s Day Weekend with my dad!

Perfect Fathers Day Gift

Even if your dad isn’t huge on making cocktails, this kit is super fun and easy to use. My hubby was down for the adventure as the kit provided everything we needed to pair our Favorite vodka with the included bitters, maple syrup, woods and torch! Our old fashioned turned out tasting subtly smoky with a hint of cherry, thanks to the cherry wood. It was delicious and an over fun experience! Even as beginners the recipe book was simple enough to use and master. I 100 per cent recommend!

My husband and I love an Old Fashioned and we regularly use a saucer kit so we were very excited to try this smoking kit. It comes with everything you need to make smoked cocktails at home. The recipe book has lots of great ideas, instructions and recipes for cocktails as well as syrups. We tried an Old Fashioned first because they are our favorite. We have never used maple syrup before but it was amazing and the bitters added the perfect flavor. I liked that the boards have the descriptions right on them and the flavors were great. I love that everything fits back into the box and can go right in your liquor cabinet. This would be a fantastic father's day gift!

A Beautiful Kit for a Cocktail Fan!

We have been having so much fun with this kit! First, it comes in a beautiful wooden box that would look lovely displayed on a home bar. Inside is all of the accessories you need to make delicious smoked cocktails. My kit included the torch (although you will need to purchase butane for it separately), and it's super easy to use to scorch the bricks to create the smoke.

A recipe book is also included, which helps to decide which types of wood to use for different cocktails. So far we have tried the Old Fashioned recipe and the Pineapple Jalapeno Margarita. Both turned out fantastic, and I can't wait to use this kit all summer and try the rest of the recipes!

Elevated at home cocktail experience!

Our family has very much enjoyed the Spirits with Smoke Old Fashioned Kit. It was a birthday/Father’s Day gift for my husband. He loves Old Fashioned's and this kit elevated the experience for him, giving a luxury cocktail bar experience from home. The maple syrup and aromatic bitters are high quality, and the using the torch with the smoked wood chips added a fun and unique touch to each drink. Note you will need to get butane for the torch - we got ours from Canadian Tire.

He also really loved the ice sphere molds as the large cube kept his drink cold for a long time, melting slowly but also very aesthetically pleasing.The engraved wooden box is a statement piece. A lot of thought went into every detail of this kit.

Overall, this would make an incredible gift for any cocktail lover as it’s classy, creative, and VERY easy to use. Highly recommend!
