it's popular for a reason!
As a die-hard color junkie for almost ten years now, I've used just about every shade splat has ever produced and didn't keep on buying for nothing! The bleach is decent albeit very stinky lol, colors are nearly unrivaled in vibrance and variety (besides maybe Manic Panic), plus so long as you're using a relatively non-abrasive shampoo and conditioner system they really do last... And with all the money you'll save picking up Splat over some of the high-end stuff, really investing in your other products shouldn't be a problem! Highly recommended. ^_^
I love this stuff first time trying it and I'm hooked :) I used purple disire it made made my hair so soft afterwards and the smell is awesome I definitely recommend this stuff
This hairdye is VERY effective... it might be a little too effective since it stains almost every surface it comes into contact with. My bathtub had blue stains for weeks and i had blue hands in my graduation photos. The bleach it comes with works but turns naturally darker hair a very brassy yellow colour. One thing i really like about this product is that it fades in a really cool way. The vibrant colour lasts for many washes but eventually it will fade to many nice shades and stages of green, blue and purple. Literally everytime i wash my hair and go to school, people think i dyed my hair a different colour. This can definitely be much cheaper in price than professional dye but i think the quality comes pretty close to being the same. The blue envy splat hair dye is definitely one of their best products.
I have so many mixed feelings about this product.
Its the only one I've found that works good...I currently have my hair in this colour... Its great that the bleach comes with it.
I used the pink from splat before too. The colour comes out sooo pretty and vibrant.. Lasts a long time.
Down sides are this... If it gets on your skin, it is the worst that I've ever experienced to get off... I scrubbed with soap and alcohol wipes for an hour and left bruises and broke skin... If your hair gets wet it will leak which is annoying. Example, I was in bathtub and had colour in for weeks , meaning I washed it lots and my water turned purple lol.....
After I shower I have one old towel that I wrap my hair in and I sleep with all whites off my bed lol. It stains bad.... So if you don't mind putting up with all that pain in the ass...
Seriously it is nice on hair but omg I don't know if it's worth it or not lol
I started using Splat! Hair color about five years ago. It works really nicely for tinting your hair if you don't want to bleach it first. Tinting your hair is nice, but it doesn't last very long unless you have naturally light hair. If you do choose to bleach it first and use any of the red or pink colors, it will stay for an incredibly long time. Years in fact. The first time I used Splat, I used a pink and 2 years later my hair dresser had to chop it off. It does fade a bit. The great part is, if you keep the lid for the color bottle and you have some left over, just re-cap it and save it for touch ups!
I bought this for my daughter to try out. First of all, how can you not get hair dye on one's scalp?? There wasn't really enough bleach in the bottle and her hair is only shoulder length. I made sure taking my time bit by bit that the bleach was in all of her hair. It came out super uneven. The actual purple was a pretty color but it's just like food coloring. It's an instant stain....
I love this hair color. I find that certain colors may fade faster than others but it has never left my hair feeling damaged and the color is so bright and intense.
This is the only "rainbow" color dye that I use. Be careful to use vaseline around your hairline or you will be dyed too!!
I love how the colors are so bright and vibrant when in the hair, but that is the only thing I like about this product, besides the price.
It is pretty cheap to buy, but can get pretty pricey after a while if you try to keep the color for very long, considering it fades into a gross color in less then a month.
The he bleach totally destroyed my hair. it made it so crunchy it broke every time I pulled my brush through it.
After bleaching it I first tried the aqua color but it did not stick to the bleached hair properly at all, I was left with brassy yellow hair (from the bleach) with nasty looking green patches all over, it looked terrible!
I had no choice but to go for a darker color, so I got the darker blue and all it was was a big mess.
It turned everything blue, even when I washed it multiple times until the water ran clear, it's gotten on my hands, hair brush, bed sheets, wall, basically anything it touches and that is when it is dry! It's even messier wet!
I do not reccomend!
I was not a fan of this dye. No matter how I put it on, it dyed my hair all different shades from purple to pink. It made no sense. It also is super gritty, making it hard to mix with conditioner to make it more pastel. It also faded out to a pink when it was supposed to be purple. Not impressed.
The colour payoff with this dye is amazing and it comes with bleach so you have the option to lighten, which I like. This will dye will bleed in the shower and it will stain. I am not so much a fan of that part. I am very careful when applying and that helps cut out a huge mess and lining your hair line with petroleum jelly helps as well. To remove the stains in my washroom I use a standard all purpose cleaner and a bit of elbow grease. The skin staining is a bit worse hence the petroleum jelly. I only wash my hair once a week (I have trained it well) and I use a residue free shampoo and this definitely helps my colour last much longer than usual.
