80% OF CHICKS DIG IT
I have been suffering from mild acne for a few years now - it sort of comes and goes - particularly when I'm overly stressed out. I have tried multiple products - including Proactiv - which works great for my skin, but not so much for my student budget! So, I set forth to try and find a product that would cost less than Proactiv, but work just as effectively.
My sister had purchased a Tea Tree Foaming Face Cleanser from The Body Shop several months back, and I tried using it. To my amazement, it started to clear up my acne. A week later, I went to The Body Shop myself and purchased several items from the Tea Tree line. I purchased six items in total (which cost me about $80 CDN, which is still much cheaper than buying 2-3 smaller items from the Proactiv line).
The Tea Tree Night Lotion was one of the six products I had purchased. I used it every night for about a week, and started to notice results just after a week! The Tea Tree Night Lotion was comparable to the pricier Proactiv Repairing Night Lotion! It has been just as effective for me, and at less than a fraction of the cost! The only con is that I don't care for the smell too much - but the scent fades away after a few minutes...and besides, it does leave my skin a lot clearer....so, I will not complain too much!
This is a big disappointment for me. I love tea oil in itself and use it a lot for a wide range of things. It is my go to essential oil. I just don't think that The Body Shop (which I usually love) came up with something good here. I have been told by the lady that the effects would be seen after a long time but I haven't noticed any after 3 months of using it every night. I don't see why tea tree oil would make healed scars fade because it is an antiseptic/antifungal. Good for healing blemishes but once they are already healed, I can't see how it will make the marks go away as this is not one of the known properties of tea tree oil...I realised this after buying it and still gave it a try but haven't seen any resuts. However, the rest of the line is good because it uses tea tree oil for what it can actually do, not for something that isn't one of the properties. I think that The Body Shop made a mistake advertising this as a product that can fade blemish scars and marks. It can help in healing pimples overnight, but that is not what it claims to do. Please be caferul what you buy it for. I also find it a bit too oily for a product made for oily and combination skin. I wake up with a bit of a greasy feeling on my face. It is also quite pricey for the amount and quality you get.
I have oily skin that breaks out now and then.
The Body Shop recently revamped the Tea Tee line and I thought I would give it a try. I bought a few products including the Blemish Fade Night Lotion and it's great.
It's nice and thick. It helps fade away marks left by blemishes, and I am very happy with the product. It does what it's supposed to, and doesn't cost as much as the department store brands.
I really like this product. I have used it in the past, and was definitely happy with it, and now I have recently starting using it again. It really does fade your blemish scars (those drive me CRAZY!!) and it is a nice hydrating lotion (its almost a gel-lotion texture). It is kind of pricy for such a small bottle, but I find if you only use it on areas that need fading, you can make it last a really long time.
I wandered into the Body Shop a week or so ago in search of something to treat blemishes and I was introduced to the Tea Tree Oil line by the Body Shop.I was told that they had sold out of the Tea Tree Facial Toner and had a hard time keeping it on the shelves so I thought I would try another product within the line. I ended up trying the Tea Tree Oil Blemish Fade Night Lotion. I have to say that I was very very impressed with this product and it did exactly what it said it would do... moisturizing my skin all while treating my blemishes. After a few days those blemishes were significantly reduced. I am now looking forward to getting my hands on that toner and even trying out the oil. If you get a chance... check out the Fairview Mall location on the upper level. Marla the manager, was very helpful in explaining to me the benefits of tea tree oil and informing me on their no animal testing and community trade policies. She was very good at explaining all the different skin care lines and then recommending which ones she thought would suit my skin. I think I am going to be changing my blemish treating regiment to include the Body Shop Tea Tree Oil line. It worked very well! :o)
