reviews Expensive compared to PC laptop options, but worth every penny. Had mine for 3 years now dragging it through a vigorous medical school curriculum and haven't had a single problem with it. reviews I've had my macbook since Sept 2006 i believe. and i still love it. It looks so nice and white with a very chic design. The only downfall with the looks is that the white gets dirty easily... but i can't complain, because i picked it. In terms of it's capability, i've gotten so used to it and i find it very user friendly. There are also really cool programs that come with it. I'm a klutz and i'm not very good with computers. But i haven't killed this one yet. I haven't even gotten a virus or had to reinstall the computer. There are downfalls though. At Uni, sometimes the programs required are Windows only. I've tried using a windows partition but it was very slow. So that was kind of inconvenient. I also hate how it's sort of heavy. It looks cute and dainty, but it does weight more than it looks. I carry it to work, to school etc ... and it's a pain to lug around. Especially with the huge battery. The price is a bit steep for laptops with around the sam specs. But honestly, it looks good, and it doesn't die easily. reviews I bought my Aluminum Macbook about a month ago and I'm so happy I got it. It's so easy to use and I love the "multi-finger" navigation! Since it's less susceptible to get viruses I don't have to really worry about buying products like McAfee or Norton... reviews When I began University five years ago I had used nothing but my family's desktop PC. I barely checked my e-mail and used the computer mostly for word processing purposes. When I went off to school my parents bought me a laptop PC. It worked fine at first however after less than a year I was already having issues with the machine. It had become extremely slow, I got many error messages and it was always overheating. The computer was under warranty and I had the fan replaced twice within a year. I had the computer a total of 2 years before it caught on fire and I needed to replace it. I saw some of my university friends with Mac computers and they told me they loved them. Never having used a MacBook I was uncertain. The operating system was different and I had heard it was difficult to learn. Not knowing much about computers and being fed up with PC's I decided to buy a MacBook. I bought the version with the most memory and a DVD burner. The cost was more than a PC would have been but I was able to use the student discount offered at my university. No anti-virus software and I have been completely virus free. It runs just as fast as the day I got it. It was a bit of adjustment switching from PC to a Mac. For me, it takes a bit of time to learn how to use it. reviews I really wanted to get this baby, but it turned out that Mac OSs are not compatible with some of the software we are required to use for school. Installing Windows on a Mac didn't seem to make a lot of sense, so I bought a good old PC. reviews I lusted after this baby for a long time. I really needed a laptop but the desktops offer so much value for the money. I finally bit the bullet. I'm still learning the new features in Leopard and I haven't used the MacBook much yet but I wouldn't trade it for anything - except possibly a MacBook Pro.
