ok so i didn't give this much of a chance at first, i thought it wouldn't make much of a difference, but it really did!
now whenever I need to be on my laptop, I can finally sit up straight and not move around like i got an itch i can't reach

The CushTop is awesome! Belkin sent one over for one of our developers who was drooling over it and I got a chance to test it out for a day.

The CushTop is light, easy to pick up due to the space in the middle, and really really comfortable to use. It sits perfectly on your lap and positions your laptop in such a way that your wrists are never over extended. I could comfortably sit on the couch and type for hours. It also prevents your lap from getting hot, which is perfect for those of us with toasty little macs.

The price is totally worth it at about $35. I definitely recommend this one.

I received my Belkin Cushtop at the hotel today (9/14/2007), and I just had to try it out for myself!

First off, it's a pretty sage green colour (big plus, looks are very important in this aspect), it's lightweight, I can grab it easily by using the little side pocket things to lift it up, and it's a sturdy, water-resistant (at least I think) material with a solid, strong flat top on either side (big plus, and I'll tell you know)

Second, you can stick the laptop cord through the middle of the CushTop so that way when you're on the bed or on the couch, you can tuck the cord into the CushTop (or papers, whatever else you want to store away), and the laptop cord won't suddenly come out of the back of the laptop by accident when you move.

Now for the actual usage factor:

I normally set my laptop on my lap and my hands always curve in a weird awkward position to try and reach the keys. I normally kind of set it on my knees, far back, so it doesn't hurt my hands and give an unnatural angle. With this CushTop, it's like having a desk in bed :)

I also like to fold my legs, or sit in a more comfortable position, but the laptop (without the CushTop) never balances properly (no flat surface to hold it steady). This CushTop solves it without a problem.

Another thing I like, is that my lap doesn't get hot any more. I also find this particularly important because my other laptop - Toshiba - has the laptop vents/fans on the BOTTOM of the laptop (yea, the laptop engineer/designer for that ought to be flogged), and if there isn't a strong, sturdy, flat surface, I cannot put the Toshiba on it because the vents for the heating element will get plugged up and the laptop will overheat and shut off (very very bad for your laptop). This solves it without a problem, and now, for the first time, I can FINALLY sit in bed comfortably with it.

All in all, worth all 5 stars in every rating, considering that $35 is a cheap price to pay for the other options I saw out there (the LapDawg comes to mind for about $100)....
