Breyers Double Churn Dark Chocolate Velvet Ice Cream

This dark chocolate velvet is just that! It's velvety smooth, and so delicious. The first bite was like eating a really expensive piece of chocolate. It is not too sweet, but so rich and creamy and the flavour is a nice dark chocolate, not too bitter, but not too sweet. I have not been a big fan of chocolate ice cream lately, but this is my new favourite flavour! My husband loves it too. This is a very high quality ice cream. I think it's the double churn that makes all the difference.

Thanks Chick Advisor and Breyers for sending me the ice cream coupons! I had an ice cream party to taste some of the new flavours. Everyone was a big fan of the Double Churn Dark Chocolate Velvet ice cream. I’m not nuts about chocolate, but this one made me change my mind (and also changed the mind of another non-chocolate lover in the group). It actually tasted like you were eating a real dark piece of chocolate – not that fake chocolate taste. One person thought it tasted like something you’d buy at a high-end ice cream parlor and not a grocery store. The ingredients were high quality (rich flavours) and had almost a fudge type taste to it as well. Yes, I’d definitely recommend this ice cream to my friends!

I was able to try this from Chick Advisor review club. This ice cream is a chocolate lovers dream! Its smooth and creamy texture was amazing! The rich chocoloate flavor was sooo good! I shared this with my family and friends and it was a big hit. I would definately buy this again!

This stuff is like a chocolate lovers dream come true. Its both creamy and chocolaty, and delicious. I love dark chocolate, and i was a little worried that it wouldn't be dark enough for my tastes, but I was so wrong. It is worth every penny!!! I have been recommending it to every body!! Its a wonderful summer treat, and I will continue to buy this!

The Dark Chocolate Velvet Ice Cream is delicious. Although it says Dark Chocolate, it's not bitter at all like most dark chocolate. It was creamy and not too sweet. I enjoy chocolate alot, but probably would not pay full price for this. It reminded me of a fudgsicle. I like fudgesicles and the price of fudgesicles would agree with my wallet a bit more.

I was selected to sample this ice cream (along with Banana Cream Pie and Chocolate Cheesecake) as a member of the Product Review Club. I received a sharing package with the coupons in the mail that included three little ice cream bowls and three sundae spoons. The packaging of this kit was absolutely adorable! I was super excited to try the ice cream once I had the kit in my hot little hands.

The Dark Chocolate Velvet Double Churn ice cream is to die for! I can't express how amazing it is. From the very first bite I was swept away! I'll start with the flavour. The chocolate taste in this ice cream is intense. It just the perfect amount of chocolate and just the right flavour of chocolate. It didn't taste overly sweet or syrupy. It satisfied my chocolate craving just perfectly. It did taste pretty close to dark chocolate without the slight bitterness that I find with most dark chocolate. It was delicious!

The texture was also amazing. It was so smooth and fluffy (can ice cream even be fluffy?). It was nice a creamy and didn't have any grittiness to it. It just melted like heaven in my mouth.

This ice cream is better than the best. It is better than any other chocolate ice cream I've had in my life. It is well worth the $8.99 price tag.

All I can say is, wow! This flavor was so freakin' awesome. I came home the other day and hubby had actually given a bowl to my MIL - horror ;) The chocolaty taste was just perfect, the texture was oh so smooth and it sure lived up to the name! I will totally buy this again. Just writing about it makes me want a bowl :D

After one bite, the first thing that came to my mind is "it sure lives up to its name...velvet"

The flavour is so rich, chocolaty, and will satisfy all of your cravings for chocolate...trust me!

For the flavour and quality of the ice cream, this one is definitely worth spending the extra money to get. If I wasn't planning a party to share my ice cream, I'd be eating more right now...

I loooooved the packaging that the sharing kit arrived at my home it. They sent 3 bowls and beautiful spoons, I was very, very, very impressed.

Me and the gang just finished testing the 3 flavors I chose: this one, Maple Walnut, and Chocolate Cheesecake. Believe it or not I'm still waiting on my chicken breast (we're having a barbeque and testing the flavors, haha).

Anyway though, the things I loved:
1) I LOVED the fact that it wasn't overly sweet. Especially for a person like me who can't take a whole lot of sweets in one sitting and someone like my aunt who has Type 2 Diabetes, she had one or two small scoops and she was good. I don't know if they did that purposely or if it was just something that happened, but I like it.

2) I LOVED the fact that it wasn't... okay well, you know how you can tell from your lips when an ice cream is fatty and heavy? I never got that with this ice cream, it was perfectly light and airy. It just sort of added to the decadence of the flavour, I appreciated that a lot.

3) I LOVED the flavor itself, like it was intense. For all of those hard core chocoholics out there, it'll haunt your dreams and it will be the source of your midnight cravings. Ladies this is serious break-up ice cream going on here, haha. I'm a newly converted chocolate lover, I don't know where it came from but I've had like these huge cravings for some chocolate.

Things that a few of us didn't like was that the chocolate flavor was so intense that like for my friend Emma, she likes chocolate but she's not hardcore or anything and she said "It's almost bitter, it's so chocolatey". I can understand where she'd get that completely, like it could almost be a turn off.

I gave it the half rating, taking everyone that tried it into consideration.

OK, I'm being a bit of a 'keener' in reviewing this product, because I just tried it for the first time last night, but given my experience with this ice cream after dinner last night, I just HAD to get on here first thing this morning to tell you all about it! I received my Breyers coupons in the mail last night and I had to get to the grocery store to pick up a few tings for dinner anyway, so I decided to grab a tub of Breyers Dark Chocolate Velvet ice cream while I was there. I do love chocolate ice cream (and ice cream in general), so I was looking forward to trying it after dinner, but I was actually 'excited' about it until I took my first bite... and I was suddenly in heaven! This ice cream is the most rich, chocolaty chocolate ice cream I have ever had in my life! I love dark chocolate, and this combined the smooth creamy delicious taste of dark chocolate with my other favourite dessert (ice cream). I can see myself going through this tub of ice cream in less than a week (by MYSELF, because I don't want to share it!), and I'll definitely be going out to get another one shortly thereafter. Of course, this experience makes me want to try ALL the Breyers Double Churned ice creams, but I'll have to keep a tub of the dark chocolate velvet on-hand too... at all times! My recommendation? TRY IT TODAY!
