I was apprehensive when I received this Mud Bath Gift Box. There were two different bottles of mud in the set; Pine and Lavender. The instructions were simple; mix full bottle with half a tub and mix while adding more water. I was worried about having a mud bath in my bathtub, but the notes did say that it would not stain or clog bath tubes, and the 100ml bottle in a bathtub full of water doesn't make a very thick solution. I tried the pine mud first. It was a really nice sent; smelled like a Christmas tree! :) But it was very strong in the bottle, but after mixing it with a tub of water it was diluted a little bit.

Twenty to Twenty-five minutes was what the instructions said for bathing time... I might have been in for a little longer than that, but only because it was so relaxing. The pine sent was both invigorating and relaxing. The kit included a mud mask as well... it was cold going on, but warmed up quickly and didn't get tight and drying like other masks tend to. My face was soft and smooth when I rinsed it off. The warm muddy water took a bit of getting used to but that is part of the experience. I have never been in a mud bath at a spa, so I can not compare it to the "real thing" but if you want a mud bath at home I would have to recommend this product! Once you get past the fact that your bath tub is full of mud and accept that you may have to wash the bath later on, or tomorrow the warm mud almost hugs you! My muscles have been sore from all the snow shoveling but after this mud bath I felt great! After wiping off the water I curled up on the couch and fell asleep for 40 minutes! I never sleep in the middle of the day!!!

There was a lot of prep work for the bath... the instructions say not to rinse after the bath and to relax for an hour after. So I had to dig out some old towels and cloths to wipe off the watery mud and put on old cumfy pants and tanktop to relax in. I also had to get a glass of wine and light some candles (but that wasn't part of the instructions... but it didn't hurt!) I will admit I smelled like a pine forest for a while after my bath and did eventually take a shower. The bathtub did need a really good rinse and I cleaned it the next day, but it was not as bad as I thought it was going to be after being full of mud!!

The bottles say "Forced relaxation in a bottle" and that couldn't be more accurate! Thank you ChickAdvisor! I really needed this pampering! I feel great!
