Maybelline New York XXL Curl Power

Pretty good mascara. Doesn't dry out too fast. I did find that the "step 2" of the mascara (the black) is not as effective as a regular black mascara IF used without "step 1" (the white part). But if used as directed, it is a nice mascara. Makes lashes longer.

This was not that great for my lashes. My lashes are medium-length eyelashes, straight...Asian eyelashes, lol. Anyway, it didn't curl that much, the wand was short and it was hard to apply it to my lashes. The curved brush was awkward too and I think the primer and mascara was heavy on my eyelashes. I don't recommend it for my eyelashes, but it might work well for longer eyelashes.

Love this mascara...even without curling my lashes it makes them thick and curly...beautiful big lashes.

The only thing is that it gave me raccoon eyes - it may be because my bottom lashes are really long, but i doubt that. I have to keep wiping underneath my eyes to make sure there's no black smudges. It acutually gets quite annoying to keep having friends say " wipe under your eyes".....But if u don't mind that, then this mascara pumps out huge curly lashes

They should really wite on the package: USELESS FOR SHORT ASIAN EYELASHES.

This formula just weighs down my eyelashes that i ALREADY CURLED.

I tried using both the primer and the mascara by themselves thinking maybe it's too heavy together..but it still weighs down my lashes. Totally USELESS.

I just bought this mascara and I really like it. I was amazed by my fellow lab partner's lashes and asked her which mascara she was wearing that day, and she said it was Maybelline XXL Curl Power.

I LOVE this primer and I use it with other mascaras too. (Try with L'Oreal Telescopic!)

This does curl beleive it or not.
(I still use an eyelash curler, but tried without one day) It has a curled brush which I've never used before, but I don't mind it.

I think the primer helps with racoon eyes which I like.
I really recommend this product.

This is probably one of my favorite mascaras that I have ever tried. I love pretty much everything about it.
I have become a faithful user of this mascara!

Pros:
*The volume and length that this mascara gives is really great! I recommend it to anyone who wants a dramatic "going out" look.
*If you don't want a SUPER dramatic look, you can just skip the first coat of white mascara and just put on the black while still achieving a very lovely look.
*No coon eyes!!! :)
*Goes on very smoothly and I don't often have any clumps or other problems similar to this.
*The price is very good! This gives you the same results you would see in a high-priced mascara for cheap!

Cons:
*The packaging is cute, but maybe a bit bulky, but that does not turn me off of this product at all.
*I'm not a big fan of the two-ended mascara thing and I usually just skip the first coat of white unless I want a more dramatic look.

I will continue to buy this mascara because, like I said, it's definitely one of my favorite things that Maybelline has produced thus far.

I received this mascara hot off the presses from Maybelline. It is currently available in the US but is just coming to Canada as of March 2008, retailing for $10.99. It is a two step process: The white layer first for volume curl and length, and then the black layer to lock it in.

I think this may be my new favorite mascara! Here are my thoughts:

Pros:
~ makes my eyelashes look amazing
~ it is very soft. Probably the softest mascara I have ever tried. I hate crunchy lashes so this is huge.
~ you really can forgo the extra step of using an eyelash curler.
~ despite the thickness and length it isn't clumpy. It looks expertly applied.
~ it doesn't bother my eyes at all. Some mascaras make my eyes tingle a little. This one doesn't
~ washes off easily with soap and water.

Cons:
~ I'm not wild on the bulky packaging. I doubt I would have picked this mascara up had I seen it in the store because of it. It's actually a fantastic product but the packaging makes it look a bit cheap I think.

~ Would prefer a deeper pot of mascara and less jumbo applicator. Each pot of mascara is 5.2 ml, so 10.4ml in total, which is actually more than a typical mascara at 8ml, but you get the sense the brush takes up almost all of the space and that it won't last.

Bottom line: Who cares about the packaging? This product really works for me and I will DEFINITELY buy it again.
