Auberge du Pommier - Toronto

My finacee and I visited Auberge du Pommier for their Summerlicious promotion on a Saturday night. We heard numerous good reviews about the restaurant; therefore, had very high hopes.

Prior to our dinner, I was awaiting gift certificates in the mail for the restaurant that I got through a third party vendor at work. They didn’t arrive after a couple of weeks so I had to call to cancel our reservation. When calling the host asked me why I was cancelling. I told him my snail mail problem and the host instantly said to keep the reservation and just drop off the gift cards once I got them in the mail. I was completely surprised they would credit my bill $100 without having the gift certificates on me – but they did without any question! I’ve never heard of a restaurant that was so accommodating.

The food definitely lived up to the reputation. It was incredibly good and had so many flavors. Each portion was the perfect size – not too big or too small. They explained each dish when giving it to us and were very down to earth for a high-end restaurant. One of the items I loved was the bread. It was warm and amazing – probably the best I’ve ever had before.

Overall, I’d recommend Auberge du Pommier in a heartbeat for anyone who loves French food. I’d say it’s easily one of the best restaurants in Toronto.
